Sabbath Eve Prayers

Blessed be you YHVH our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified with his commandments to don four corners with tzitzit, Amen. (K.S.)

And YHVH commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear YHVH our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be righteousness unto us, if we observe to do all this commandment before YHVH our God, as He hath commanded us. (Deuteronomy 6:24-25) He declareth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah. (Psalms 147:19-20) Blessed be YHVH for evermore. Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 89:53)

Who am I, but dust and ashes, wretched and woeful, vain and empty, that I may be worthy to stand in prayer before the great and awesome king, sublime and exalted is his name, the king of emperors, the Holy One blessed be He, the cause of all causes, the reason for all reasons; but I am dependent upon his great mercy and his magnificent grace, for he has mercy upon on his creations and accepts the prayers and supplications of his servants, as it is written: (K.S.) YHVH is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them. (Psalms 145:18-19) O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee doth all flesh come. (Psalms 65:3) Happy are they that dwell in Thy house, they are ever praising Thee. Selah. (Psalms 84:5)

O YHVH, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto Thee. (Psalms 102:2)

O send out Thy light and Thy truth; let them lead me; let them bring me unto Thy holy mountain, and to Thy dwelling-places. (Psalms 43:3) How lovely are Thy tabernacles, O YHVH of hosts! My soul yearneth, yea, even pineth for the courts of YHVH; my heart and my flesh sing for joy unto the living God. Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young; Thine altars, O YHVH of hosts, my King, and my God–. Happy are they that dwell in Thy house, they are ever praising Thee. Selah Happy is the man whose strength is in Thee; in whose heart are the highways. Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; yea, the early rain clotheth it with blessings. They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion. O YHVH God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of Thine anointed. For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For YHVH God is a sun and a shield; YHVH giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. O YHVH of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in Thee. O YHVH, Thy name endureth for ever; thy memorial, O YHVH, throughout all generations. (Psalms 135:13) YHVH by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens. (Proverbs 3:19) Thy lovingkindness, O YHVH, is in the heavens; Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies. (Psalms 36:6) YHVH hath established His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. (Psalms 103:19) O YHVH, our Lord, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth! whose majesty is rehearsed above the heavens. (Psalms 8:2)

O YHVH, there is none like Thee, neither is there any God beside Thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. (1Chronicles 17:20) There is none like unto Thee, O YHVH; Thou art great, and Thy name is great in might. (Jeremiah 10:6) For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things; Thou art God alone. (Psalms 86:10) Thou art YHVH, even Thou alone; Thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are thereon, the seas and all that is in them, and Thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven bows down unto Thee. (Nehemiah 9:6) We also will serve YHVH; for He is our God. (Joshua 24:18*) This is my God, and I will glorify Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. To Him that by understanding made the heavens, for His mercy endureth for ever. To Him that spread forth the earth above the waters, for His mercy endureth for ever. To Him that made great lights, for His mercy endureth for ever; The sun to rule by day, for His mercy endureth for ever; The moon and stars to rule by night, for His mercy endureth for ever. And the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it He rested from all His work which God in creating had made. (Genesis 2:1-3) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever; for in six days YHVH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He ceased from work and rested. (Exodus 31:16-17) And Moses assembled all the congregation of the children of Israel, and said unto them: ‘These are the words which YHVH hath commanded, that ye should do them. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of solemn rest to YHVH; whosoever doeth any work therein shall be put to death. Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.’ (Exodus 35:1-3) Ye shall keep My sabbaths, and reverence My sanctuary: I am YHVH. (Leviticus 19:30) Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and ye shall keep My sabbaths: I am YHVH your God. (Leviticus 19:3)

It is a good thing to give thanks unto YHVH, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High; To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness in the night seasons. (Psalms 92:2-3)

A Psalm of thanksgiving. Shout unto YHVH, all the earth. Serve YHVH with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know ye that YHVH He is God; it is He that hath made us, and we our His, His people, and the flock of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; give thanks unto Him, and bless His name. For YHVH is good; His mercy endureth for ever; and His faithfulness unto all generations. (Psalms 100:1-5) The beginning of Thy word is truth; and all Thy righteous ordinance endureth for ever. (Psalms 119:160) Thou hast ordained Thy precepts, that we should observe them diligently. (Psalms 119:4)

And YHVH spoke unto Moses, saying: Command the children of Israel, and say unto them: My food which is presented unto Me for offerings made by fire, of a sweet savour unto Me, shall ye observe to offer unto Me in its due season. And thou shalt say unto them: This is the offering made by fire which ye shall bring unto YHVH: he-lambs of the first year without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt-offering. The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at dusk; and the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. It is a continual burnt-offering, which was offered in mount Sinai, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto YHVH. And the drink-offering thereof shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb; in the holy place shalt thou pour out a drink-offering of strong drink unto YHVH. And the other lamb shalt thou present at dusk; as the meal-offering of the morning, and as the drink-offering thereof, thou shalt present it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto YHVH. (Numbers 28:1-8)

And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at dusk, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before YHVH throughout your generations. (Exodus 30:8) And to stand every morning to thank and praise YHVH, and likewise at even; (1Chronicles 23:30) I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. (Psalms 69:31)

A Psalm, a Song. For the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto YHVH, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High; To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness in the night seasons, With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; with a solemn sound upon the harp. For Thou, YHVH, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will exult in the works of Thy hands. How great are Thy works, O YHVH! Thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand this. When the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they may be destroyed for ever. But Thou, O YHVH, art on high for evermore. For, lo, Thine enemies, O YHVH, for, lo, Thine enemies shall perish: all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. But my horn hast Thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox; I am anointed with rich oil. Mine eye also hath gazed on them that lie in wait for me, mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of YHVH, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and richness; To declare that YHVH is upright, my Rock, in whom there is no unrighteousness. (Psalms 92:1-16) Blessed be YHVH for evermore. Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 89:53)

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my chiefest joy. (Psalms 137:5-6) Howbeit Thou art just in all that is come upon us; for Thou hast dealt truly, but we have done wickedly. (Nehemiah 9:33) Turn from Thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against Thy people. (Exodus 32:12*) Return for Thy servants’ sake, the tribes of Thine inheritance. (Isaiah 63:17*) Turn Thou us unto Thee, O YHVH, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. (Lamentations 5:21) And pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Thine inheritance. (Exodus 34:9*) Blessed be YHVH for evermore. Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 89:53)

Sabbath Praise of Sanctification:

There is none like unto Thee among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like Thine. (Psalms 86:8) There is none holy as YHVH, for there is none beside Thee; neither is there any rock like our God. (1Samuel 2:2) Yet Thou art holy, O Thou that art enthroned upon the praises of Israel. (Psalms 22:4)

So let the redeemed of YHVH say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary. (Psalms 107:2) Our Redeemer, YHVH of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 47:4)

And one called unto another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, is YHVH of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory. (Isaiah 6:3)

When YHVH hath built up Zion, when He hath appeared in His glory. (Psalms 102:17) Blessed be the glory of YHVH from His place. (Ezekiel 3:12*)

YHVH, YHVH, God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. (Exodus 34:6*) O YHVH, there is none like Thee, neither is there any God beside Thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. (1Chronicles 17:20)

One is our God, great is our Lord; holy and mighty is His name forever more.(K.S.)

And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto My commandments which I command you this day, to love YHVH your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. And I will give grass in thy fields for thy cattle, and thou shalt eat and be satisfied. Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and bow down unto them; and the anger of YHVH be kindled against you, and He shut up the heaven, so that there shall be no rain, and the ground shall not yield her fruit; and ye perish quickly from off the good land which YHVH giveth you. Therefore shall ye lay up these My words in your heart and in your soul; and ye shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, talking of them, when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates; that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, upon the land which YHVH swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. (Deuteronomy 11:13-21)

And YHVH spoke unto Moses, saying: ‘Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them throughout their generations fringes in the corners of their garments, and that they put with the fringe of each corner a thread of blue. And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of YHVH, and do them; and that ye go not about after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go astray; that ye may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am YHVH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am YHVH your God.’ (Numbers 15:37-41)

YHVH our God is one God; Truth! And His Torah is perfect; Truth! And His Temple is the House of Prayer; Truth! And His prophets; Truth! And His sanctified Sabbaths; Truth! And His commandments and His statutes and His testimonies and His judgement and all His words; Truth! (K.S.) But YHVH is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King; at His wrath the earth trembleth, and the nations are not able to abide His indignation. (Jeremiah 10:10) And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I hope in Thine ordinances. (Psalms 119:43) And YHVH shall be King over all the earth; in that day shall YHVH be One, and His name one. (Zechariah 14:9) YHVH will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah. (Psalms 146:10) Thy kingdom is a kingdom for all ages, and Thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. (Psalms 145:13) For the kingdom is YHVH’S; and He is the ruler over the nations. (Psalms 22:29) YHVH is king, YHVH has always been king. (K.S.) YHVH shall reign for ever and ever. All Thy works shall praise Thee, O YHVH; and Thy saints shall bless Thee. (Psalms 145:10)

Blessed be Thou, O YHVH, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. Thine, O YHVH, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine; Thine is the kingdom, O YHVH, and Thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of Thee, and Thou rulest over all; and in Thy hand is power and might; and in Thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank Thee, and praise Thy glorious name. (1Chronicles 29:10*-13) But we will bless YHVH from this time forth and for ever. Hallelujah. For we do not present our supplications before Thee because of our righteousness, but because of Thy great compassions. O Lord, hear, O Lord, forgive, O Lord, attend and do, defer not; for Thine own sake, O my God, because Thy name is called upon Thy city and Thy people. Silent Prayer

Blessed be YHVH God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things; And blessed be His glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 72:18-19) Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me. (Psalms 66:20) Please, O YHVH, God of Israel, may it be Your will to look from Your holy dwelling in heaven with mercy and see the greatness of my suffering, affliction, and humiliation. When my soul faints within me, cast me not off from before You. When my strength fails, save me in Your mercy from all my debts, forgive all my iniquities, and pardon all my transgressions. End my years in pleasantness, and have pity and mercy upon me and upon my entire family. Please cause me to have success in my current plans and endeavors, and guard me in this city from evil men, from violent persons, and from the wicked people of the generation. Likewise, save me from the terror of the strife of the wicked, who provoke upon the roads and gloat in the cities; save me from them. Make me not depend upon any man nor upon the hand of any flesh and blood. Open before me Your full and generous hand, give peace among us, and send blessing upon all our works. Feed us our allotted bread, and give us food to eat and clothing to wear, for we depend upon You, and in Your great and holy name do we trust and seek shelter. Assist me to purify myself, O merciful and gracious God. (K.S.) Moreover by them is Thy servant warned; in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Clear Thou me from hidden faults. Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, that they may not have dominion over me; then shall I be faultless, and I shall be clear from great transgression. Please, O honorable and terrific Lord, great and mighty God, keeper of the covenant and the grace for your servants, we come before you to entreat you and to beseech you to have mercy on us and to accept our prayers and petitions in lieu of our sacrifices and grain offerings for we trust in you and in your name do we hope and that you may also save us quickly and soon, Amen. Imparting Greetings

Blessed be your name, O God of gods, and Lord of lords. You created me in your great mercy, breathed into me the lifeforce, and gave me wisdom and understanding to declare your mighty acts and to sing your wonders. Because you are He that creates and forms all souls, who sustains and provides for all, who takes away life in justice and gives life through grace and great mercy, therefore, as long as my lifeforce is within me, I am obliged to give thanks to your Holy name to praise your glory. You alone are Lord, an exalted king with a multitude of glory and praise, extolled and sanctified in heaven and on earth. Now if I have found favor in your eyes, receive my supplication and grant my request; do not scorn my prayer nor leave me frustrated. Hide not Thy face from me; for I am in distress; answer me speedily. I have no father but You; I have no one but You and there is none that brings help to my soul besides you, for in Thy hand is power and might; and in Thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
