God of the Spirit, whose care is for all mortal beings,
Grant us the courage
to continue to remedy
The wrongs of the past
Even when the price is painful
In order that our Land be a blessing
To all its inhabitants, its neighbors
And to all those who journey in this world.
God of the breath of all life,
Grant us the courage
to continue to right
The wrongs of the past
Even when pain is the price.
In order that our Land be a blessing
To all its inhabitants, its neighbors
And to all those who journey in this world.
Divine Presence Source of all compassion
When the just work begins –
Be a shield over the State of Israel
the first flowering of our redemption
That tapestry of life
woven from a thousand tones and colors
So that it will not unravel,
so that it will not be torn asunder.
Keep a constant watch
so that there will not arise among us
One who in his or her sorrow
would rip a part of the country’s cloth
Keep a constant watch so that there will not arise
one who would do it harm.
Divine Presence Source of all compassion
At the first flowering of the work of justice –
Protect the State of Israel,
the first flowering of our redemption,
the tapestry of life
woven from a thousand hues and colors –
So that it will not unravel,
so that it will not be torn asunder.
Keep a constant watch
so that there will not arise among us
One who in sorrow
would tear a hole in her.
Keep a constant watch so that there will not arise
one who would do her harm.
Our Father Our King,
Grant us strength
during this time of ”Rending”[1] i.e., the 2005 unilateral Israeli Disengagement from Gaza
to sew together the torn,
During this time of separation
not to cut down the very roots of our being,
When anger rages
help us to embrace and be all–embracing
When our energies are spent
help us to be inclusive, to include and be included.
In Your light let us see light
even when the skies are darkest
Answer us on the day we cry out to You.
Our Father Our King,
Grant us strength
during this time of Disengagement[2] i.e., the 2005 unilateral Israeli Disengagement from Gaza
to sew together the torn,
During this time of separation
not to cut down what has been planted,
When anger rages
grant us strength us to embrace
When we feel empty
help us to be inclusive and be included.
In Your light let us see light
even when the skies are darkest
Answer us on the day we cry out to You.

A pure heart and mind create for us O God
And a spirit of rightness renew in our midst. (based on Psalms 51:12)
