We beg you Hashem, the Sovereign full of mercy,
God of the spirit of every living thing,
in Whose hand are the souls of the living and the dead:
please gather in, in your great kindness,
the holy souls of all who have been killed in this horrific period –
Israelis and Palestinians;
Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists;
men and women,
the elderly and the young,
babies and nursing infants,
who were killed,
slaughtered,
burned,
buried alive,
and starved to death –
in Gaza and the Gaza envelope,
in Beit Hanoun and Be’eri,
in Kfar Aza and Khan Younis,
in Nuseirat and Nachal Oz,
in Re’im and Rafah.
Take pity and have mercy on them,
remember for them the righteous deeds they did,
and may their reward accompany them
and their actions precede them.

We beg You,
shelter their souls in the shade of your wings,
teach them the path of life,
the consummate joy of being in your presence,
the delights that You hold forever in Your right hand,
and shower them with the abundance of good
that is hidden away for the righteous.
As it is written, “How abundant is Your goodness
that You have in store for those who fear You,
that you do for those who take refuge in you
for all humankind to see.” (Psalms 31:20)

Please Hashem,
You who heals the broken-hearted
and bandages their sorrows,
recompense the mourners with consolations,
and may the passings of these holy ones–
women and men,
girls and boys
and babies–
be an end to all suffering and travail
for all of their families and loved ones.
Strengthen and encourage them
on the day of their mourning and agonizing grief,
and remember them for long and good lives.
Therefore, Master of mercy,
bind their souls with the bond of life.
God is their inheritance,
Amen.
