בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַזָּן אֶת הָעוֹלָם כֻּלּוֹ בְּטוּבוֹ בְּחֵן בְּחֶֽסֶד וּבְרַחֲמִים הוּא נוֹתֵן לֶֽחֶם לְכָל בָּשָׂר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ: (תהלים קלו:כה) וּבְטוּבוֹ הַגָּדוֹל תָּמִיד לֹא חָסַר לָֽנוּ וְאַל יֶחְסַר לָֽנוּ מָזוֹן לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד: בַּעֲבוּר שְׁמוֹ הַגָּדוֹל כִּי הוּא זָן וּמְפַרְנֵס לַכֹּל וּמֵטִיב לַכֹּל וּמֵכִין מָזוֹן לְכָל בְּרִיּוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר בָּרָא: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ הַזָּן אֶת הַכֹּל: |
Blessed are you, YHVH our elo’ah, cosmic majesty, who nourishes the entire Cosmos with your beneficence, with grace, with lovingkindness, and compassion; “You give food to all organisms, for your lovingkindness is in the Cosmos.”[1] Psalms 136:25. Through your great beneficence food has never been absent for us: May (food) never be absent for us in the Cosmos forever for the sake of your great Name, since you nourish and sustain all beings, are benevolent to all, and provide food for all your creatures whom you have formed. Blessed are you, YHVH, Sustainer of All. |
נוֹדֶה לְךָ יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ עַל שֶׁהִנְחַֽלְתָּ לַאֲבוֹתֵֽינוּ אֶֽרֶץ חֶמְדָּה טוֹבָה וּרְחָבָה׃ וְנָתַתָּ לָֽנוּ בְּרִית וְתּוֹרָה חַיִים וּמָזוֹן׃ בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ עַל הָאָֽרֶץ וְעַל הַמָּזוֹן׃ |
We thank you YHVH our elo’ah, for that which you bequeathed to our ancestors a desirable, good, and ample land, and you gave to them the covenant and the Torah, life and food. Blessed are you YHVH, for the Earth and for the food. |
רַחֵם יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ עָלֵֽינוּ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל עַמֶּֽךָ וְעַל יְרוּשָׁלַֽםִ עִירֶֽךָ וְעַל מַלְכוּת בֵּית דָּוִד מְשִׁיחֶֽךָ וּתְגַדֵּל מְהֵרָה כְּבוֹד הַבַּיִת וּתְנַחֲמֵֽנוּ בְּכִפְלַיִם׃ בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ בּוֹנֶה בְרַחֲמָיו יְרוּשָׁלַֽםִ׃ אָמֵן: |
Have compassion upon us, YHVH our elo’ah, on Yisrael your people, upon Yerushalayim (the City of Peace) your city,[2] Cf. Psalms 122, Ibn Ezra on Psalms 122:6, Ibn Ezra on Psalms 76:3, and Ibn Ezra on Genesis 14:18. and upon the kingdom of the House of David your anointed: speedily magnify the Kavod of the Temple, and doubly comfort us.
