Vollkommen sei deine Ruhe, und was du in deinem jetzigen Zustande bedarfst, sei dir gewährt aus der Lieblichkeit des ewigen Gottes unserer Väter. Gott erfülle dir den Wunsch, von Leiden der Deinigen nie schmerzlich berührt zu werden. My speech is dripping like rain, my word is flowing like dew, when I call out to you: Peace to you, my brother, peace to your spirit, peace to your soul. I also ask you to pray for me before the Almighty King of kings, the Holy One, praised be He, that He may assist me with His mercy, and grant me rest and peace in life, that I may devote myself undisturbed to His service; that corruption have no power over me and over my descendants, whom He may likewise bless, that they may always become more capable of His service. He, who raises the poor from the dust, also raises me from my lowliness, and forgives me if I have failed against his commandments and prohibitions. May he instill in me, my descendants and all Israel the spirit of knowledge and the fear of God, so that our thoughts, our speeches and our works may be dedicated only to him. O verherrlichter König, erbarme dich über mich Armen, deiner Hilfe bedürftigen! “Am Grabe eines Bruders” was translated/adapted by Yehoshua Heshil Miro and published in his anthology of teḥinot, בית יעקב (Beit Yaaqov) Allgemeines Gebetbuch für gebildete Frauen mosaischer Religion. It first appears in the 1835 edition as teḥinah №121 on pp. 232-234.
