Before the newborn girl enters, say: Our God and the God of our mothers and fathers, it is entirely known to You that You made a covenant with all of Your holy nation, as it says: “’And all your sons shall be students of the Lord’ (Isaiah 54:13)— read not ‘sons,’ but rather, ‘builders.’” (Berakhot 64a.14, et al.) |
