חַסְדֵי ה׳ כִּי לֹא תָמְנוּ כִּי לֹא כָלוּ רַחֲמָיו (איכה ג:כב)	“The lovingkindness of the Lord does not cease, His compassion is endless” (Lamentations 3:23)
רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, נִצָּב/נִצֶּבֶת אֲנִי לְפָנֶיךָ עַתָּה בְּיִרְאָה וּבְאַהֲבָה, בְּחֶרְדַּת קֹדֶשׁ עֲצוּמָה, וּבְהַכָּרַת טוֹב אַדִּירָה, קֹדֶם שֶׁאֲנִי עוֹמֵד/עוֹמֶדֶת לַעֲבֹר נִתּוּחַ לְהַשְׁתָּלַת אֵיבָר בְּגוּפִי. נוֹשֵׂא/נוֹשֵׂאת אֲנִי אֶת עֵינַי אֵלֶיךָ הַשָּׁמַיְמָה שֶׁתְּחָנֵּנִי וְתַשְׁפִּיעַ בִּרְכוֹתֶיךָ עָלַי, וְהַהַשְׁתָּלָה שֶׁאֶעֱבֹר תִּצְלַח, וְגוּפִי יִקְלֹט אֶת הָאֵיבָר הַמֻּשְׁתָּל, וְלֹא יִדְחֶה אוֹתוֹ.	Master of the Universe, I stand now before You in fear and love, with great trepidation of Your Holiness, and with immense gratitude, as I am about to undergo organ transplantation. I lift up my eyes to the heavens, and beseech You to have mercy and bestow Your blessings upon me so that the transplant will succeed. May my body accept the transplanted organ, and never reject it.
וְזַכֵּנִי לְהִתְרַפֵּא בִּרְפוּאָה שְׁלֵמָה, לִהְיוֹת בָּרִיא אוּלָם, וּלְהַאֲרִיךְ יָמִים וְשָׁנִים בַּטּוֹב וּבַנְּעִימִים.	May I merit to have a complete recovery, to regain my health, and live a long life in good health, peace and prosperity.
וְתַצְלִיחַ אֶת דַּרְכָּם שֶׁל הָרוֹפְאִים וְהַצְּוָתִים הָרְפוּאִיִּים הָעוֹמְדִים לְבַצֵּעַ בִּי אֶת הַהַשְׁתָּלָה.	Grant success to the physicians and medical team who are scheduled to carry out the transplant on me.
אֲסִיר/אֲסִירַת תּוֹדָה אֲנִי מֵעִמְקֵי הֲוָיָתִי עַל הַחֶסֶד הֶעָצוּם הַנַּעֲשֶׂה עִמָּדִי, שֶׁאֵיבְרֵי הַנִּפְטָר נִתְרָמִים לְאַחַר מוֹתוֹ. תַּעֲמֹד זְכוּת זוֹ שֶׁל הַצָּלַת חַיִּים לְעִלּוּי נִשְׁמָתוֹ.	I am overflowing with gratitude from the core of my being for the great lovingkindness that is being bestowed upon me, that the organs of the deceased are being donated following their passing. May the merit of this deed endure and accompany the ascension of their soul.
מוֹדֶה/מוֹדָה אֲנִי מִקֶּרֶב לֵב לִבְנֵי מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ הָעוֹסְקִים בִּמְלֶאכֶת הַתְּרוּמָה וּבְהוֹצָאָתָהּ מִן הַכּוֹחַ אֶל הַפֹּעַל. הָרוֹפֵא לִשְׁבוּרֵי לֵב, אָנָּא חַזְּקֵם וְאַמְּצֵם עַתָּה לְאַחַר אָבְדַן שְׁאֵר בְּשָׂרָם, וּבָרְכֵם בִּכְלַל הַבְּרָכוֹת הָאֲמוּרוֹת וְהַכְּתוּבוֹת בַּתּוֹרָה. כִּי אֵל שׁוֹמֵעַ תְּפִלּוֹת וְתַחֲנוּנִים אַתָּה.	I thank from the bottom of my heart the family members of the departed, who are engaged in the donation process and making it a reality. He who heals the brokenhearted, please strengthen them following the loss of their beloved. May they be granted all the blessings mentioned and written in the Torah, for You are God who hears prayers and supplications.
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה שׁוֹמֵעַ תְּפִלָּה.	Blessed are You, who hears prayers.

“Prayer for an organ transplant recipient” by Dr. Yael Levine is the first of four prayers offered by the author in 2024 in the event of an organ transplant procedure. Dr. Levine writes, “תפילות אלו התחברו על ידי לפי פנייתו של הרב ד”ר שלמה ברודי אליי עבור ארגון “אימתי” שהוא עומד בראשו, ועלו שם לאתר במחצית שנת 2024. (These prayers were composed by myself at the request of Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Brody for the “Ematai” organization that he heads, and were uploaded to the website in mid-2024.)

Yael Levine

Dr. Yael Levine (Heb: יעל לוין) holds a Ph.D. from the Talmud department of Bar-Ilan University. She has published numerous studies focusing on issues related to women and Judaism. She has also composed many prayers and midrashim.

Initially founded in 2001 to educate about organ donation in Jewish communities, ɐ̤matai was relaunched in 2023 to enable Jewish families to navigate an increasingly complex healthcare journey, particularly in the dilemmas of aging and end-of-life treatment.
