This is a Hebrew adaptation of the poems traditionally recited by the Beta Israel community for the festival of Sigd, altered and adapted to fit the traditional qedushta form of poetic Amidah additions. The texts of the first few prayers were rewritten substantially and combined with relevant verses so as to fit in the strict form of the magen, mehaye, meshalesh, and El Na. After this, the qiqlar is slightly edited to fit a couplet rhyme scheme, while the silluq (the freest of the genres of qedusha piyyut) is almost entirely preserved — the only change being several verses whose placement is postponed so as to better lead into the qedusha as a silluq should. Regarding translations, the silluq largely uses my original translation with slight alterations (replacing the clunky use of ‘God’ as a pronoun with a gender-neutral THEIR, translating the Agaw passages into Latin rather than English to preserve general comprehensibility while clarifying that this is a different language), while the rest of the poems are different enough for their translation to largely be from scratch. These would be recited with the Ark open for all the piyyutim, as one would on the Yamim Noraim, ideally using melodies from the Sigd liturgy.
Note: “The CAUSE” is used to translate the Divine Name YHVH, based on the philosophical idea of God as the Prime Mover and on the interpretation of the Name as a causative form of the copula – “causes to be.”

Leading them was Michael who is Israel’s prince. From God’s mouth stood up fire and cloud. Four gates were carved in God’s temple. |

Who is like You, Lord of wonders, and who can be compared to You? Sovereign who deals death and life and plants salvation. And faithful are You to revive the dead. |
מַעֲלֶה הָהָר עָלוּ בְּאוֹתָהּ שָׁנָה נַעֲלֶה הָהָֽרָה בְּכׇל־שָׁנָה סְגִידָה לִפְנֵי הָאָדוֹן אֵל קַנָּא עָלוּ הָהָרָה לְמַעֲנָהּ׃ |
Ascending the mountain they went in that year. Let us ascend the mountain every year. Bowing before the Master, the zealous Deity, They went up the mountain for its sake. |
פָּרָשַׁת הַבְּרִית בְּסִינַי צַדִּיקִים בְּעַם אֱמוּנַי קָרְאוּ לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם יהוה רוֹאֶה אֶת־הַפִּסְגָּה בְּעֵינַי׃ |
The portion of the covenant at Sinai The righteous among my faithful people Read before their god the CAUSE. My eyes see the summit. |
שְׁבַנְיָה בֻּנִּי שֵׁרֵבְיָה בָּנִי תְּמִימֵי לֵוִי קַדְמִיאֵל וּכְנָנִי תָּמְהוּ כְּמוֹ תִּמְהוֹנִי׃ |
Shvanya, Buni, Sherevya, Bani The pure Levites, Qadmiel, Knani, Were amazed as my amazement. |

And You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. God, please! |
