Blessed be the name of the Lord of the world, praised be his glory and his kingdom!
Be pleased with your people forever, and show us deliverance through your omnipotence in your holy Temple! Let a ray of your light flow to us, and receive our prayer with mercy.
Let it please you to preserve our life in blessedness, and that I may be numbered among the righteous. Have mercy on me and on mine, and on all Israel,
for it is you who feed and sustain all things; you are the ruler of the universe, the ruler of kings; for yours is the kingdom. —
I a servant of the Holy One, praise be to Him, bowing down all the time to Him and to the dignity of His teaching (Torah).
I do not rely on any man, I do not rely on any divine being, except the God of heaven, who alone is the true God, whose teachings are true, whose prophets are true, who is infinitely good in truth.
In him alone I rely, to his holy worthy name I sing praises.
Amen.
May it please you to open my heart to your teachings and fulfill the desires of my heart, like the desires of all the people of Israel, for good, for life and for happiness. Amen.

“Wenn man die Gesetzrolle aus der heiligen Lade nimmt” was adapted from the prayer “Brikh Shmeih d’Marei Alma” (Zohar II 206a) by Yehoshua Heshil Miro and published in his anthology of teḥinot, בית יעקב (Beit Yaaqov) Allgemeines Gebetbuch für gebildete Frauen mosaicher Religion. The translation appears in the 1829 edition, תחנות Teḥinot ein Gebetbuch für gebildete Frauenzimmer mosaicher Religion as teḥinah №15 on pp. 19-20. In the 1835 and 1842 editions, it also appears as teḥinah №15 on pp. 22-23.

We welcome corrections and improvements. The transcription of the German from Latin script in Fraktur type provided machine-readable text for a machine translation by DeepL, which we then proofread for accuracy. –Aharon Varady
