📖 סידור תהילת ה׳ ידבר פי | Siddur Tehillat Hashem Yedaber Pi, by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi (2009)

If you are not used to reading Hebrew with comprehension and with the ability to dilate the Hebrew from the literal meaning, or if you cannot read Hebrew and need a resource for daily davvenen, I offer you this set of texts, which I, too, use frequently for myself.

I translated the Psalms and the liturgy in the way in which I experience them in my feeling consciousness. This does not offer the ‘pshat’, the literal meaning of the words, but the devotional interpretation that can make it a prayer of the heart.

📖 (מנהג הספרדים) סידור אור ומסורת | Siddur Or uMasoret for Weekday use (Izzun Books, revised second edition 2019/2023)

Siddur Or uMasoret is a weekday prayerbook, containing the liturgy for normal daily services, as well as additions for Rosh Ḥodesh, Ḥol haMo’ed, Purim and Ḥanukkah. This siddur includes artwork by Noam Sienna and other community contributors, a set of seven bakashot (songs for the early morning), and various additions to the Torah service to mark life cycle events. The revised second edition adds 200+ pages of new material, as well as other style and content updates that bring it in line with Siddur Or veShalom for Shabbat and Festival use (2023). The siddur contains the full traditional Sefaradi liturgy, including a diverse range of Sefaradi customs, piyyutim (songs and poetry), and psalms. It also provides a full transliteration and guiding commentary.

We strongly advise against printing sacred texts and art containing divine names as these copies must be regarded with reverence, complicating their casual treatment and disposal.
If you must dispose of a printed sacred text (one containing Divine Names), please locate the closest genizah (often established by a synagogue) and contact its custodians for further instructions. We also recommend using Morah Yehudis Fishman's Prayer for Adding a Work to the Genizah.

Support this work: The Open Siddur Project is a volunteer-driven, non-profit, non-commercial, non-denominational, non-prescriptive, gratis & libre Open Access archive of contemplative praxes, liturgical readings, and Jewish prayer literature (historic and contemporary, familiar and obscure) composed in every era, region, and language Jews have ever prayed. Our goal is to provide a platform for sharing open-source resources, tools, and content for individuals and communities crafting their own prayerbook (siddur). Through this we hope to empower personal autonomy, preserve customs, and foster creativity in religious culture.
