It first appears in the 1829 edition, תחנות Teḥinot ein Gebetbuch für gebildete Frauenzimmer mosaicher Religion as teḥinah №46 on pp. 64-67. In the 1835 edition, it appears as teḥinah №47 pp. 79-82. In the 1842 edition, it appears as teḥinah №49 on pp. 82-85. This is an undated El Malé Raḥamim prayer for the victims of the Shoah translated into Dutch for a Yom Kippur ne’ilah service, likely sometime soon after the Holocaust had ended. To this I have added an English translation for those not fluent in Dutch or Hebrew. We are grateful to Shufra Judaica (Ellie Fisher and David Selis) for sharing a digital copy of this prayer. In the era of the Sanhedrin, every fast day would have a Ne’ilah service between Minḥah and the conclusion of the fast. While these are no longer in practice for any days other than Yom Kippur, the editor personally feels like it could be worth bringing them back. The following is a fourth blessing for the Amidah intended to serve as the center of a Tishah b’Av Ne’ilah service, incorporating passages from other Tishah b’Av and Yom Kippur liturgies as well as some original passages.
