Our God, and the God of our ancestors,
Don’t forsake us;
And don’t cast us off;
And don’t put us to shame;
And don’t renege on your deal with us.
Draw us near to your Torah.
Teach us your commandments.
Show us your ways.
Incline our hearts to have awe for your name,
And circumcise our hearts to love you.
That we may return to you in truth,
And with a complete heart;
And for the sake of your name, the big one,
Pardon and forgive our immoralities,
According to the words of your holy one:
“Pardon my immoralities, YHVH!
On the strength of your name: for it is great.”[1] Psalms 25:11.
Our God and the God of our ancestors
Pardon us.
Forgive us
Absolve us.
For we are your people
And you are our god.
We are your children
And you are our father.
We are your slaves
And you are our master.
We are your sheep
And you are our shepherd.
We are your vineyard
And you are our watchman.
We are your heritage
And you are our destiny.
We are your waiting
And you are our savior.
We are your creatures
And you are our creator.
We are your treasured
And you are our holder.
We are your subjects
And you are our king.
We are your spouse
And you are our beloved.
We are your chosen
And you are our chosen.
We are knuckleheads
But you are merciful and gracious.
We are stiff-necked
But you are lastingly patient.
We have lots of immorality
But you have lots of of mercy.
We — our days pass as a shadow.
But you — you are He whose years have no death.
Our God and God of our Ancestors,
Allow our prayers to come before you
And don’t absent yourself from our supplications
For we are not such stiff-necked knuckleheads
As to say before you,
YHVH, our God and God of our Ancestors
“We are righteous, and we have not sinned.”
Rather, us and our ancestors, we have sinned.
We are guilty
We have betrayed
We have stolen
We have spoken incorrectly
We have committed immoralities
and We have done bad things
We have been presumptuous
We have been violent
We have framed with lies
We have counselled badness
We have lied
We have scorned
We have rebelled
We have blasphemed
We have revolted
We have been immoral
We have transgressed
We have oppressed
We have been stiff-necked
We have been bad
We have corrupted
We have done the abhorrent
We have gone astray
We have caused others to stray
We have turned aside from your good commandments and orders,
and that has not profited us.
But you are just concerning all that is come upon us,
for you have dealt most truly, but we have done badly.
We have done bad things, and we have transgressed, so we have not been saved.
And allow our hearts to abandon bad ways,
and hurry to us salvation. As it is written by the hand of your prophet:
Let the baddie abandon his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to YHVH, for He will be merciful;
and to our God, for he pardons much.
Our God and the God of our ancestors,
Forgive and pardon our immoralities
on this day of (on Shabbat: shabbat and on this day of) absolution,
let us petition you with our prayers.
Erase and overlook our transgressions which accost your eyes.
And humble our creativity, that it may be used in your service.
And subdue our stubbornness, to turn to you in truth.
And renew our innards to keep your orders.
And circumcise our hearts with love to awe your name
As it is written in your Torah:
“And YHVH your God will circumcise your heart
and the heart of your seed
to love YHVH your God
with all your heart,
and with all your soul,
for the benefit of your life.”[2] Deuteronomy 30:6.
Our evils and our missteps, you recognize
The voluntary and the coerced, the public and the secret.
Before you they are all revealed and known.
What are we?
What is our life?
What is our mercy?
What is our righteousness?
What is our saving?
What is our power?
What is our strength?
And what can we say before you, YHVH, our God and the God of our ancestors?
Are not the heroes like nothing before you?
Household names as if they had not existed?
Wise men, as if they were without knowledge?
And the intelligent, as if they were without understanding?
For the majority of their actions are null
And the days of their life void before you.
And the superiority of the human over the animal is nothing, for it’s all useless.
What can we say before you who sits up top?
Or what can we tell before you who lives in the skies?
Isn’t it that, the secret and the public, you know?
You know the secrets of the world,
and the hidden mysteries of all living.
You search all the rooms of the belly and examine the kidneys and the heart.
There is nothing concealed from you, and none hidden from meeting your eyes.
May it be your will, YHVH, our God and the God of our ancestors
to pardon us for all our sins,
and to forgive us for all our immoralities
and to absolve for all our transgressions.

For the sin we have sinned before you,
coerced or voluntarily.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,
with a stubborn heart.
For the sin we have sinned before you
because of not knowing.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,

either openly or secretly.
For the sin we have sinned before you,
with knowledge and deceit.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,

For the sin which we have committed before you,
by gathering for vulgarity.

For the sin we have sinned before you,
by scorning our parents and teachers.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,
with malice or with forgetfulness.
For the sin which we have committed before you,
by strong arming.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,
by profaning of your name.

For the sin which we have committed before you,
with icky lips.
And for the sin we have sinned before you,
by spouting nonsense with the mouth.
For the sin which we have committed before you,
with bad impulses.
And for the sin which we have committed before you,
knowingly or unknowingly

For ‘do-this’ commandments, and for ‘don’t-do-this’ commandments.
If there is anything that can be done about it, and if there is not a thing that can be done about it.
Those which are visible to us, and those which are not visible to us.
Those which are visible to us, we have already said them before you and acknowledged them to you.
And those which are not visible to us, before you they are visible and known.
As it is said in these words,
“The secret things are for YHVH, our God,
