כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃ (ויקרא טז:ל)
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH. (Leviticus 16:30)

כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
O people of heart,[1] Heart in the sense of “mind”, thinking people, concerned people.  remember your judgment day,
And the day of repaying of your deeds.
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יַזְהִֽירוּ
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יִפְרוּ
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יָאִֽירוּ
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will shine,
The day when the upright will be fruitful,
The day when those blameless in their way will be bright.
Remember – it is today!

from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יִשְׂגּוּ
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יִדְגּוּ
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ חַיִּים יַשִּֽׂיגוּ
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם

The day when the upright will be fecund like fish,

יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יַרְבּוּ תְרוּעָה
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יִשְׂבְּעוּ שָׂבְעָה
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will be clothed in rescue,
The day when the upright will perform much shouting,[2] Translated in accordance with the traditional Karaite understanding of the word teru‘a in Leviticus 23:24 (though that verse deals with 1 Tishri, not 10 Tishri).  
The day when those blameless in their way will attain life.
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יִשְׂמְחוּ שִׂמְחָה
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יְקַבְּלוּ מְנוּחָה
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יָנִֽיסוּ אֲנָחָה
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will rejoice with joy,
The day when the upright will receive rest,
The day when those blameless in their way will chase away anguish,
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יְנֻחָֽמוּ נֶחָמוֹת
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יְקַבְּלוּ נְעִימוֹת
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יִרְאוּ שִׁכְלוּל חוֹמוֹת
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will be consoled with consolations,
The day when the upright will receive sweetness,
The day when those blameless in their way will stand see the construction of the walls [of Jerusalem],
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יַרְבּוּ הוֹדוֹת
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יִרְאוּ בִּנְיַן יְסוֹדוֹת
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יַעַמְדוּ עַל הֻיְּדוֹת
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will give much thanksgiving,
The day when the upright will see the building of the foundations [of the Temple],
The day when those blameless in their way will stand up to give thanksgiving,[3] Huyyedoth is an utterly anomalous form of hodoth, “to give thanksgiving”, found in Nehemiah 12:8. The phrase la‘amod ‘al can have various meanings; our translation “stand up” follows the most literal understanding of the verb.  
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יִרְאוּ נֶחָמַת צִיּוֹן
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יְקַבְּלוּ פִדְיוֹן
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יִרְאוּ בִנְיַן אַפִּרְיוֹן
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will see the consolation of Zion,
The day when the upright will receive redemption,
The day when those blameless in their way will see the building of the palanquin [i.e.,the Temple],
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יֶחֱזוּ בִנְיַן זְבוּלִים
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יַרְבּוּ הִלּוּלִים
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יַשִּֽׂיגוּ שְׂמָחוֹת וְגִילִים
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will see the building of the Temple,
The day when the upright will recite many praises,
The day when those blameless in their way will attain joy and gladness.
Remember — it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יִלְבְּשׁוּ עֲטָרוֹת
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יַרְבּוּ שִׁירוֹת
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ יְבֻשָּֽׂרוּ בִּבְשׂוֹרוֹת
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will wear crowns,
The day when the upright will [sing] many songs,
The day when those blameless in their way will be given announcement of [good] tidings,
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
יוֹם צַדִּיקִים יָד יְנוֹפֵֽפוּ
יוֹם יְשָׁרִים יַטִּֽיפוּ
יוֹם תְּמִימֵי דֶֽרֶךְ כֹּֽחַ יַחֲלִֽיפוּ
זִכְרוּ הוּא הַיּוֹם
 
כִּֽי־בַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה יְכַפֵּ֥ר עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם לְטַהֵ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם
מִכֹּל֙ חַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י ה֖׳ תִּטְהָֽרוּ׃
The day when the righteous will wave their hands,
The day when the upright will speak,[4] Alternatively: “will walk”.  
The day when those blameless in their way will find renewed strength,
Remember – it is today!
 
For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you;
from all your sins shall you be clean before YHVH.
אַנְשֵׁי לֵבָב שַׁחֲרוּ שׁוֹרְרוּ
בּוֹרַאֲכֶם הַדְּרוּ, תּוֹמֶכְכֶם זְכֹֽרוּ
יוֹדֵֽעַ כְּלָיוֹת וְחוֹקֵר לְבָבוֹת
לָתֵת לָאִישׁ כִּדְרָכָיו וְכִפְרִי מַעֲלָלָיו
O people of heart,[5] See first note, above.  diligently sign!
Render beauty unto your Creator, remember your Supporter!
He knows the kidneys and examines hearts,[6] Kidneys = seat of emotion, hearts = seat of thought.  
To give each person [compensation] in accordance with their ways and the fruit of their deeds.
