  • I am SO GRATEFUL to have found this project online. I was searching for a fresh translation of the 67th Psalm and stumbled upon Reb Zalman’s translation. I’m an American Baptist minister who treasures ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, and I’m always offering space for my congregation to access scripture and the divine in new, immediate ways.
For our worship service, I set this in responsive form and changed a few of the words. I hope I didn’t bowdlerize it. See below:
Leader: God, bless us with grace!
People: Let Your loving Face shine upon us!
We want to get to know Your way here on Earth, seeing how Your help is given to every group of people.
Oh, how the countless peoples will thank You; every one of them will sing of their thankfulness.
Many people will be joyous and sing when You set them right with forthrightness.
And the peoples, as You lead them, will honor You.
Oh, how the countless peoples will thank You! Every one of them will sing their gratitude.
The Earth will offer her harvest, blessings that come from God.
Unison: Yes, from our God! Bless us, O Lord; all the ends of the Earth will cherish You!
