בְּחִיל וּרְעָדָה, בְּהוֹדָיָה וּפְלִיאָה, אָנוּ מְקַבְּלִים עָלֵינוּ אֶת מִצְוַת הַבּוֹרֵא: ”פָּתֹחַ תִּפְתַּח אֶת־יָדְךָ לְאָחִיךָ“ (דברים טו:יא חלק). |
With trembling and awe, and with gratitude and wonder, we take upon ourselves the command of the Creator — “Open your hand to your brother” (Deuteronomy 15:11 part). |
מוֹדִים אָנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ, אֱלֹהַּ כָּל בְּרִיּוֹת, הַחוֹנֵן לְאָדָם דַּעַת וּמְלַמֵּד לָאֱנוֹשׁ בִּינָה, עַל שֶׁזִּכִּיתָ אוֹתָנוּ לָקַחַת חֵלֶק בְּמַעֲשֵׂה הַנְּתִינָה, בְּבִנְיַן יִשְׂרָאֵל אַרְצְךָ, עַמְּךָ וְהָעוֹלָם כֻּלּוֹ. |
We acknowledge before You — God of all creation — “the One who gave human beings knowledge and Who teaches understanding” that you have merited us with the task of the activity of giving — of building-up the land of Israel, Your People, and the larger world. |
יְהִי רָצוֹן שֶׁתְּהֵא נְתִינָה זוֹ טוֹבָה וּמֵיטִיבָה, שֶׁנָּדוּן כָּל אָדָם לְכַף זְכוּת וְנִרְאֶה מַעֲלוֹת חֲבֵרֵינוּ וְלֹא חֶסְרוֹנָם, שֶׁלְּשׁוֹנֵנוּ תִּהְיֶה נְקִיָּהּ וּמִלּוֹתֵינוּ טוֹבוֹת וְתִשְׁהֶה עָלֵינוּ נַחַת רוּחַ. |
May it be Your will that this act of giving be an act of good; may we give people the benefit of the doubt and may we see their positive aspects and not their flaws; and may our language be pure, may our words be good and may a pleasant spirit be upon us. |
שְׁכִינָה, הֲיִי שׁוֹרָה בֵּינֵנוּ, עִזְרִי לָנוּ לִמְצֹא חֵן אִישׁ בְּעֵינֵי חֲבֵרוֹ, גַּלִּי בָּנוּ אֶת מִדַּת הַחֶסֶד, מַלְּאִי אוֹתָנוּ חֶמְלָה וְנִזְכֶּה לְקַיֵּם אֶת הַפָּסוּק ”אֹהֵב צְדָקָה וּמִשְׁפָּט, חֶסֶד ה׳ מָלְאָה כָּל הָאָרֶץ“ (השווה עם תהלים לג:ה). אָמֵן |
Shekhinah, dwelling amongst us, help us find the good in the eyes of the other; reveal for us the attribute of loving kindness and fill us with compassion and may we merit the fulfilment of the verse — “Love what is right and just the earth is full of Hashem’s faithful care.”[1] cf. Psalms 33:5. Amen. |
This prayer of intention before a philanthropic board meeting, was written by Limor Rubin and first published to her Facebook page. Explaining the prayer, she wrote the following:
חיברתי תפילה.
בגיל 37 עליתי לתורה בפעם הראשונה, בגיל 44 ספרו אותי למניין בפעם הראשונה ובגיל 46 חיברתי תפילה בפעם הראשונה.
כבר שנים אני חיה בעולם מקצועי שמתקבלות בו החלטות במליוני שקלים. וההחלטות האלה משפיעות על ארגונים ועל א.נשים ועל חיים ועל גורלות.
וכבר המון שנים שהתפילה הזו חסרה לי.
הרי הייתי רוצה לדעת שהחלטות הקשורות אלי ואל אהוביי, קטנות כגדולות, מתקבלות בחיל ורעדה, בהודיה ופליאה.
וכך רציתי גם לקבל החלטות הנוגעות לאחרים.ות.
ובתקופה הזו של המגפה והפגיעות הגדולה של כולנו, הרגשתי את הצורך הזה יותר מאי פעם.
חיפשתי ולא מצאתי תפילה מתאימה ומדויקת, אז אזרתי אומץ והחלטתי לחבר בעצמי.
וכך לראשונה, לקראת ישיבה בורד, התפללנו כולנו את התפילה שחיברתי, ואמרנו אמן ועלו לי דמעות.
מעצמת המעמד וגם מגודל האחריות.
