בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁהָאִשָּׁה מְגַלַּחַת שַׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשָׁהּ עֵת רָצוֹן הִיא לִפְנֵי הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, וּבְיָדָהּ לְהִתְפַּלֵל עָלֶיהָ וְעַל בַּעְלָהּ וְצֶאֱצָאֶיהָ, וְכֵן עַל שְׁאָר צָרְכֵי עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל. |
The time when a woman shaves her hair from her head is a favorable time before the blessed Holy one, and it is in her power to pray for her husband and offspring as well as for the needs of the people of Yisrael. |
הִנְנִי מוּכָנָה וּמְזֻמֶּנֶת לְקַיֵּם מִצְוַת ”וְעָשִׂיתָ כְכׇל אֲשֶׁר יוֹרוּךָ“, (דברים יז:י חלק) לַעֲמֹד בַּנִּסָּיוֹן לְמַעַן טָהֳרַת וּקְדֻשַּׁת יִשְׂרָאֵל, וּלְגַלֵּחַ אֶת שַׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשִׁי כְּמִנְהַג נְשׁוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל הַכְּשֵׁרוֹת וְהַצְּנוּעוֹת. |
I am prepared and ready to perform the mitsvah of “You shall carry out…all their instructions to you” (Deuteronomy 17:10 part) to endure this trial for the sake of the purity of the holiness of Yisrael and to shave my head according to the custom of the modest and proper women of Yisrael |

Master of all the worlds, just as you heard the prayer of Ḥanah as she stood at the Beit Miqdash in prayer before you[1] Cf. 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11. so, please listen to the call of the supplication of (Plonit bat Plonit), your handmaid at this time that I shave the hair of my head to do your will, my Father in Heaven. |

May it be your will that this act would be like a qorban haMunaḥ (meal-offering) placed on top of the altar, and the locks of my head that have been shorn would be like the locks of the Nazir placed in the flames of the peace-offering[2] or “sacrifice of well-being,” Cf. Numbers 6:18. and that this hour would be an hour of mercy and a time of favor before you, to send a complete healing to all the sick of Yisrael — and particularly to (Plonit bat Plonit) — and to send suitable marriage partners to the sons and daughters of Yisrael who need them — and particularly to (Plonit bat Plonit) — in the merit of this mitsvah I would be found worthy together with my husband (Ploni ben Plonit) to see children and grandchildren who toil in Torah and mitsvot without any disqualifying blemish or fault, ḥas v’shalom, that we would all rejoice in worship at the Beit Miqdash, Amen and Amen. |
