And Elokim remembered Rachel,
and Ze listened to her
and opened her womb…
and she said, “Elokim has gathered in my shame!” (Genesis 30:22-23)

Master of the universe,
behold, my lips are uncircumcised!
Source of life,
You put the soul in the blood,
but my source of blood is not revealed.
Those who seek my soul saw a sight and did not know^[1] Isaiah 6:9  —
they examined my land and spread an evil report about it.^[2] Numbers 13:32 
So now, my god, I have come up to the lip of the sea,
but I cannot cross through it to freedom,
because, look, it is not cut!
My heart is ready, Elokim, my heart is ready! (Psalms 57:8)
Who will give me a wing like a bird?—
I would fly off and find rest! (Psalms 55:7)

But you did not split the sea
until Nachshon jumped in and sank first.^[3] Sotah 37a 
Therefore I have come to this step,
to clear the path with burning fire and heat,
as it is written, Now when this touches your lips,
your sin shall be cleared and your misdeeds atoned for! (Isaiah 6:7)
Because I have been driven out like a person from upon their land,^[4] Jeremiah 27:10 and Isaiah 6:12 
and I say, Hashem, how long?! (Isaiah 6:11)
And while its hair remains on it and it comes back,
it shall be burned until it becomes like a redwood or an oak,
which keep their trunks in the fall—
its trunk shall be sacred seed! (Isaiah 6:13)

Hashem, god of my redemption,
uncover my nakedness before you,
and I will be your eternal maidservant!
Let me merit to fulfill the verse, Hashem,
“open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise.” (Psalms 51:17)
Split apart the evil decree
and lead me upright to my land,
as it is written, “Return, my soul, to your rest,
for Hashem has bestowed upon you!” (Psalms 116:7)
May it be desired!

Let not the child of the foreigner gathered to Hashem say,
“Hashem has fully separated me from Zir people,”
and let not the saris say,
“Behold, I am a dried-out tree!”
For this is what Hashem has said to the sarisim
who keep My Shabbats
and choose what I desire
and hold tightly onto My pact:
‘I shall give them,
in My House and within My walls
empowerment and recognition; better than sons and daughters,
an everlasting name I will give to those
who are not cut off [from Me]. (Isaiah 56:3-5)

And Ze said, “Raise up, raise up!
Clear a path!
Remove all obstacles
from the path of my people!” (Isaiah 57:14)

Sing, sterile woman who has not birthed!
Burst into song and rejoice, she who has not borne the pangs of birth!
For greater are the children of the deserted
than the children of the married, says Hashem!
Make space for your tent,
spread out the cloths of your dwellings—
do not hold back, lengthen the ropes and strengthen the spikes!
For you will burst forth right and left,
and your seed shall disinherit nations and settle the deserted cities.
Do not fear, because you will not be shamed;
and do not blush, because you will not be disgraced—
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
and the disgrace of your solitude you will never remember again!
Because your partner is your maker, Hashem of myriads is Zir Name,
and your redeemer is the Holy One of Yisrael, known as the god of all the earth!
For while you were a sad and depressed woman, a woman among boys, Hashem called you—
your god said, “For a small moment I left you,
but I will take you in with great compassion.
In a bit of rage I hid my Face from you for a minute,
but with eternal love I give you a womb,” says your redeemer, Hashem! (Isaiah 54:1-8)

The One who makes the sterile home-bound woman
into a happy mother of children—
praise God! (Psalms 113:9)
