Blessed art thou, O God our King.
Lord of the world, who everything
Created when the world began.
(How beautiful is all his plan!
His flashing storms I need not fear.
Because I know that God is near.)

This paraliturgical supplement to the blessing upon seeing lightning was written by Jessie Ethel Sampter and published in her Around the Year in Rhymes for the Jewish Child (1920), p. 88.
