Herbert Adler (translation) ![]() Herbert Adler (translation)Herbert M. Adler (1876–1940). A lawyer and lay scholar. Completed the translation of the set of maḥzorim begun by Arthur Davis. He was appointed Director of Education in 1922 by the Central Committee for Jewish Education (for the UK and the British Commonwealth), a position in which he served until 1929. He was the nephew of the then Chief Rabbi, Hermann Adler.
