א מִזְמ֥וֹר
לְתוֹדָ֑ה
הָרִ֥יעוּ לַ֝יהוָ֗ה
כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
1 This is how you sing to God
A Thank You song.
You join the symphony
Of the whole Earth.
In your gratefulness,[1] Cf. verse 4. Reb Zalman brings the voice of verse 4 and 5 here, before continuing to verse 2. 
You meet Him.
Voices echo joy in God’s halls.

In giving thanks,
We engage Her blessings.
We meet His goodness,
Here and now;[2] Cf. verse 5. 
Her encouragement
From generation to generation.

ב עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה
בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה
בֹּ֥אוּ לְ֝פָנָ֗יו
בִּרְנָנָֽה׃
ג דְּע֗וּ כִּֽי־יְהוָה֮ ה֤וּא אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים
הֽוּא־עָ֭שָׂנוּ
ולא [וְל֣וֹ] אֲנַ֑חְנוּ
עַ֝מּ֗וֹ
וְצֹ֣אן מַרְעִיתֽוֹ׃
ד בֹּ֤אוּ שְׁעָרָ֨יו ׀
בְּתוֹדָ֗ה חֲצֵרֹתָ֥יו
בִּתְהִלָּ֑ה
2 You are filled with joy
Serving God’s purpose.
You sound your own song
As you do it.
3 Certain that God is Be-ing,
We know that we are
Brought forth from Her,
–Both God’s companions
And His flock.
4 Enter into God’s Presence
Singing your own song,
In grateful appreciation.
הֽוֹדוּ־ל֝֗וֹ
בָּרֲכ֥וּ שְׁמֽוֹ׃
ה כִּי־ט֣וֹב יְ֭הֹוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם
חַסְדּ֑וֹ
וְעַד־דֹּ֥ר וָ֝דֹ֗ר
אֱמוּנָתֽוֹ׃
Thank You God,
You are all Blessing.
5 In this world, You are goodness.
Yes, Grace, itself.
This is the trust we bequeath
The next generation.
