In time of stress.
In this hour of trial and peril
I lift up mine eyes unto Thee, O Father.
Into Thy hand I commend my spirit,
and with my spirit my body also.
Thou art with me, I cannot fear.
I am surrounded by danger,
and my heart beats fast within me,
but my soul is filled with Thy presence.
Thou are very near to me.
Father, give me courage.
Come to me.
Thy presence fortifies me,
for I know that Thou art my God;
as it is said, “Thou shalt not be afraid
of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flyeth by day.”
In Thee, O Lord,
I place my trust.
I do not fear.
Amen.
