|
”אַחַת שָׁאַלְתִּי מֵֽאֵת־יְהוָה אוֹתָהּ אֲבַקֵּשׁ
שִׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית־יְהוָה כׇּל יְמֵי חַיַּי
לַחֲזוֹת בְּנֹֽעַם־יְהוָה וּלְבַקֵּר בְּהֵיכׇלֽוֹ
כִּי יִצְפְּנֵנִי ׀ בְּסֻכֹּה בְּיוֹם רָעָה
יַסְתִּירֵנִי בְּסֵתֶר אָהֳלוֹ
בְּצוּר יְרוֹמְמֵֽנִי.“ (תהלים כז:ד)
|
“One thing have I asked from YHVH, that which I seek:
May I sit in the House of YHVH all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the pleasantness of YHVH and visit in their palace.
They will hide me in their Sukkah on the day of evil.
They will hide me in the concealment of their tent.
They will lift me upon the rock.” (Psalms 27:4-5)

רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם
רַחֵם עָלַי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָעֲצוּמִים
וּבַחֲסָדֶיךָ הָרַבִּים וְהַגְּדוֹלִים,
וְזַכֵּנִי לְקַיֵּם מִצְוַת סֻכָּה בִּזְמַנָּהּ כָּרָאוּי
בְּכׇל פְּרָטֶיהָ וְדִקְדּוּקֶיהָ וְכַוָּנוֹתֶיהָ
וְתַרְיַ”ג מִצְוֹת הַתְּלוּיִים בָּהּ,
וּבְלֵב טוֹב וּבְשִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה.
|
Master of the world,
in Your vast and great kindness,
have compassion on me.
Help me fulfill the mitsvah of Sukkah in its season,
with all of its details, particulars, intentions
and the 613 commandments that are dependent on it,
with a good heart and with great joy.
|
|
וְאֶזְכֶּה שֶׁיִּהְיוּ נִמְשָׁכִין אֵלַי הַמֹּחִין הַקְּדוֹשִׁים
וְהַחֲסָדִים הַגְּדוֹלִים וְהַנִּפְלָאִים הַנִּמְשָׁכִין
עַל עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל
בִּימֵי חַג הַסֻּכּוֹת הַקָּדוֹשׁ
עַל יְדֵי מִצְוַת סֻכָּה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה וְהַנּוֹרָאָה מְאֹד,
שֶׁאָז אִמָּא מְסַכֶּכֶת עַל בָּנֶיהָ
וְאַתָּה פּוֹרֵס סֻכַּת רַחֲמִים וְחַיִּים וְשָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ.
|
May the holy state of mind
and great, wondrous kindnesses
that are drawn onto Your nation, Yisra’el,
during the holy festival of Sukkot
be drawn down to me as a result of my fulfilling the holy and awesome mitsvah of Sukkah,
when the mother hovers over her children
and You stretch the Sukkah of compassion and life over us.

|
מָלֵא רַחֲמִים, מָלֵא רַחֲמִים,
רַחֵם עָלַי לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ אַתָּה
יָדַעְתָּ אֶת לְבָבִי כַּמָּה אֲנִי רָחוֹק מְאד מִמִּצְוַת סֻכָּה.
|
You are filled with compassion.
Have compassion on me for the sake of Your Name.
You know my heart, how far I am from the mitsvah of Sukkah.
|
|
וְכַמָּה תַחֲנוּנִים וּבַקָּשׁוֹת וְהַפְצָרוֹת בְּלִי שִׁעוּר
אֲנִי צָרִיךְ לְהִתְפַּלֵּל וּלְהִתְחַנֵּן לְפָנֶיךָ
שֶׁתְּזַכֵּנִי לְמֹחִין קְדוֹשִׁים כָּאֵלֶּה, לַחֲסָדִים כָּאֵלֶּה,
בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לְדַעַת אֲמִתִּי לְדַעַת שֶׁל אָדָם,
בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה מְהֵרָה לָצֵאת מִבְּהֵמָה לְאָדָם.
|
How many times without number
must I plead and pray
that You will give me a holy state of mind, energies of kindness,
so that I will attain true, human knowledge,
so that I will quickly go from being a domesticated-animal to being a human being.
|
|
שֶׁאָחוּס עַל עַצְמִי מֵעַתָּה
וְלֹא אֶעֱשֶׂה עוֹד מַעֲשֵׂה בְּהֵמָה,
רַק אֶזְכֶּה מְהֵרָה לְדַעַת אֲמִתִּי
שֶׁהוּא גֶּדֶר הָאָדָם.
|
May I have pity on myself from now on
and no longer commit the acts of a domesticated-animal.
Rather, may I quickly attain true knowledge,
which is the definition of a human being.
|
|
וְאֶזְכֶּה לִינֹק מֵהַשֶּׁפַע שֶׁל אָדָם,
וְלֹא אִינֹק עוֹד מִשֶּׁפַע שֶׁל בְּהֵמָה
וְאֵצֵא וְאֶעֱלֶה מְהֵרָה מִגֶּדֶר בְּהֵמָה
לְגֶדֶר אָדָם.
|
May I draw from the energy that goes to Adam/humanity
and no longer from the energy that goes to Behemah/domesticated-animals.
May I soon ascend from the category of domesticated-animal
to the category of human.
|
|
רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם
טוֹב וּמֵטִיב לַכֹּל
וְרַחֲמָיו עַל כׇּל מַעֲשָׂיו
חוּס וַחֲמֹל וְרַחֵם עַל הַבְּהֵמוֹת וְהַחַיּוֹת,
וְזַכֵּנִי אוֹתִי וְאֶת כׇּל עַמְּךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל
שֶׁלֹּא נִפְגּם בְּמִצְוַת סֻכָּה כְּלָל,
בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁיִּהְיֶה יְנִיקָתֵנוּ תָמִיד מִשֶּׁפַע שֶׁל אָדָם
שֶׁנִּמְשָׁךְ מִבְּחִינַת סֻכָּה.
|
Master of the world, Master of the world,
You are good and do good to all.
You are compassionate to all Your creatures.
Have pity, mercy and compassion on the domesticated-animals and wild creatures.
Help me and Your entire nation, the House of Yisra’el,
not to spoil the mitsvah of Sukkah at all,
so that we will always draw from the energy of Adam
that comes from the level of Sukkah.

|
וְלֹא נִצְטָרֵךְ לִינֹק חַס וְשָׁלוֹם מֵהַשֶּׁפַע שֶׁל הַבְּהֵמוֹת
וְלֹא נוֹצִיא לְעַצְמֵנוּ הַשֶּׁפַע שֶׁלָּהֶם חַס וְשָׁלוֹם,
לְמַעַן לֹא נִגְרֹם חַס וְשָׁלוֹם מִיתוֹת בְּהֵמוֹת וְחַיּוֹת בְּלֹא זְמַנָּן.
|
May we not have to draw from the energy of domesticated-animals, Heaven forbid.
May we not take their energy to ourselves, Heaven forbid,
so that we will not cause the premature deaths of domesticated-animals and wild creatures, Heaven forbid.
|
|
וִיקֻיַּם מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב.
”אָדָם־וּבְהֵמָה תּוֹשִׁיעַ יְהוָה“ (תהלים לז:ז)
וְנֶאֱמַר. ”בָּרוּךְ פְּרִי־בִטְנְךָ
וּפְרִי־אַדְמָתְךָ
וּפְרִי בְהֶמְתֶּךָ
שְׁגַר אֲלָפֶיךָ
וְעַשְׁתְּרוֹת צֹאנֶךָ“. (דברים כח:ד)
|
May the verse be realized as it is written:
“YHVH, you save human and behemah/domesticated-animal.” (Psalms 37:7)
and as it says: “Blessed will be the fruit of your womb
and the fruit of your fertile-ground,
and the fruit of your domesticated-animals,
the offspring of your tame-ones,
and the flocks of your sheep.” (Deuteronomy 28:4)

וּבְכֵן יְהִי רָצוֹן מִלְּפָנֶיךָ מָלֵא רַחֲמִים וַחֲסָדִים
שֶׁתַּשְׁפִּיעַ עָלֵינוּ דַּעַת שָׁלֵם וַאֲמִתִּי
עַל יְדֵי מִצְוַת סֻכָּה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה בְּאֹפֶן
שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה אֲנַחְנוּ וְכׇל עַמְּךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל
הַצְּרִיכִים לִבְנוֹת בַּיִת
שֶׁלֹּא יַזִּיק לָנוּ הַבִּנְיָן כְּלָל.
|
And so, You Who are filled with compassion and kindness,
send us a flow of energy of complete and true knowledge
by means of the holy mitsvah of Sukkah—
so that when we and Your entire nation, the House of Yisra’el,
need to build a house,
that construction will not harm us at all.
|
|
וְלֹא יַגִּיעַ לָנוּ שׁוּם סַכָּנָה בְּגוּף וָנֶפֶשׁ וּמָמוֹן עַל יְדֵי בִנְיַן בֵּיתֵנוּ
רַק אַדְרַבָּא נִזְכֶּה כׇּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד לִבְנוֹת בַּיִת בִּקְדֻשָּׁה וּבְטָהֳרָה גְדוֹלָה,
בְּחָכְמָה בִּתְבוּנָה וּבְדַעַת דִּקְדֻשָּׁה.
|
May we not suffer any danger in body, soul or money by building our House.
To the contrary, may we build a house in great holiness and purity,
with holy wisdom, understanding and knowledge.
|
|
וִיקֻיַּם מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב.
”בְּחָכְמָה יִבָּנֶה בָּיִת וּבִתְבוּנָה יִתְכּוֹנָן
וּבְדַעַת חֲדָרִים יִמָּלְאוּ כׇּל הוֹן יָקָר וְנָעִים“. (משלי כד:ג-ד)
|
May the verse be realized,
“With wisdom is a house built and with understanding it is established;
with knowledge, rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant wealth.” (Proverbs 24:3-4)
|
|
וְנִבְנֶה בֵּיתֵנוּ לְשֵׁם יְהוָה
לַעֲסֹק בּוֹ בְּתוֹרָה וּתְפִילָּה,
וּלְהַכְנִיס בּוֹ אוֹרְחִים הֲגוּנִים
עַד שֶׁיִּהְיֶה בֵּיתֵינוּ בֵּית תּוֹרָה וּתְפִילָּה
בֵּית וַעַד לַחֲכָמִים
וְנִקְרָא שָׁם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה אֵל עוֹלָם.
|
Let us build our House for the sake of YHVH,
to engage in Torah and prayer in it,
and to host worthy guests,
until our House will be a House of Torah and prayer,
a meeting place for the sages.
And there we will call in the Name of YHVH, cosmic El.
|
|
וּבְכֵן תְּזַכֵּנוּ עַל יְדֵי מִצְוַת סֻכָּה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה
לִשְׂמֹחַ בְּשִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה בְּשִׂמְחַת תּוֹרָה,
לְסַיֵּם הַתּוֹרָה
וּלְהַתְחִילָהּ בְּשִׂמְחָה וְחֶדְוָה גְדוֹלָה נָגִיל
וְנָשִׂישׂ בְּזֹאת הַתּוֹרָה
כִּי הִיא לָנוּ עז וְאוֹרָה.
|
By means of the holy mitsvah of Sukkah,
help us rejoice greatly on Simḥat Torah—
to complete (learning) the Torah
and begin it again in great joy and gladness,
to be happy and delighted in the Torah,
for it is our strength and light.
|
|
וְתִהְיֶה בְּעֶזְרֵנוּ בְּכׇל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה לְקַיֵּם מִצְוַת סֻכָּה בִּשְׁלֵמוּת גָּדוֹל כׇּל כָּךְ
עַד אֲשֶׁר נִזְכֶּה לְקַבֵּל אֶת הַתּוֹרָה מִשָּׁם מֵחָדָשׁ בְּכׇל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה,
כִּי מִסֻּכָּה יוֹצֵאת הַתּוֹרָה.
|
Every year, help us fulfill the mitsvah of Sukkah completely,
until we receive the Torah from there every year,
because the Torah emerges from the Sukkah.
|
|
עַד אֲשֶׁר עַל יְדֵי כְּנִיסָתֵנוּ לַסֻּכָּה
נִזְכֶּה שֶׁיִּהְיֶה נַעֲשֶׂה מֵאִתָּנוּ בְּעַצְמֵנוּ תּוֹרָה שֶׁכׇּל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל יִהְיֶה נַעֲשָׂה מִמֶּנּוּ
תּוֹרָה אוֹרַיְיתָא וְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְקֻדְּשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא כֻּלָּא חַד. (זוהר ג׳ קעט א׳)
|
As a result of our entering the Sukkah,
may the Torah be made from every one of us.
“Torah, Yisra’el, and the blessed Holy One — are all one.”
|
|
וְיֻמְשַׁךְ עָלֵינוּ עַל יְדֵי מִצְוַת סֻכָּה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה
קְדֻשַּׁת חַג הַשָּׁבוּעוֹת,
קְדֻשַּׁת חֹדֶשׁ סִיוָן
קְדֻשַּׁת קַבָּלַת הַתּוֹרָה.
|
By means of the holy mitsvah of Sukkah,
draw onto us the holiness of the festival of Shavuot,
the holiness of the month of Sivan,
the holiness of receiving the Torah.
|
|
רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם
צְרָכֵינוּ מְרֻבִּים מְאֹד בְּלִי שִׁעוּר
וְדַעְתֵּנוּ קְצָרָה לְבָאֵר וּלְפָרֵשׁ חֵלֶק אֶלֶף
וּרְבָבָה מֵהֶם,
רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ
וּמַלֵּא מִשְׁאֲלוֹתֵינוּ לְטוֹבָה בְּרַחֲמִים.
|
Master of the world,
our needs are many and without measure,
and our mind is too small to explain and express a thousandth
or even a ten-thousandth of them.
Have compassion on us for the sake of Your Name
and compassionately fulfill our requests for the good.
|
|
וְזַכֵּנוּ לְקַיֵּם מִצְוַת סֻכָּה בִּזְמַנָּהּ בִּשְׁלֵמוּת,
בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְכׇל מַה שֶּׁבִּקַשְׁנוּ מִלְּפָנֶיךָ
שֶׁלֹּא נִגְרֹם חַס וְשָׁלוֹם מִיתַת בְּהֵמוֹת וְחַיּוֹת בְּלֹא זְמַנָּן
רַק נִהְיֶה נִזּוֹנִים וְיוֹנְקִים תָּמִיד מִשֶּׁפַע שֶׁל אָדָם
שֶׁנִּמְשָׁךְ מִבְּחִינַת סֻכָּה.
|
Help us fulfill the mitsvah of Sukkah in its time completely,
so that we will attain everything that we have requested of You.
May we not cause the premature death of domesticated-animals and wild creatures, Heaven forbid,
but may we always derive our sustenance from the energy for Adam/humanity
that is drawn from the level of Sukkah.
|
|
וְתִפְרֹס עָלֵינוּ סֻכַּת שְׁלוֹמֶךָ תָּמִיד,
וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ תַּסְתִּירֵנוּ
וְנִזְכֶּה כׇּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד הַמֻּכְרָח לַעֲסֹק בְּבִנְיָן
שֶׁלֹּא יַזִּיק לוֹ הַבִּנְיָן כְּלָל,
רַק תִּשְׁמְרֵנוּ וְתָגֵן עָלֵינוּ
בְּכֹחַ קְדֻשַּׁת סֻכָּה, שֶׁעַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל מְקַיְּמִים
שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לִבְנוֹת הַבַּיִת בְּחָכְמָה אֲמִתִּיִּית
לְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ לְבַד.
|
Spread the Sukkah of Your peace over us always.
Hide us in the shadow of Your wings.
Then, when an individual must engage in construction,
doing so will not harm him at all.
Guard us and shield us
with the power of the holiness of the Sukkah that Your nation, Yisra’el, keeps,
so that we will attain a house with true wisdom,
for the sake of Your Name only.

|
וְיִהְיֶה בֵּיתֵנוּ בַּיִת שֶׁמְּגַדְּלִין בּוֹ תוֹרָה וּתְפִילָּה,
שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְדַבֵּר בְּבֵיתֵנוּ הַרְבֵּה דִּבְרֵי תוֹרָה וּתְפִילָּה
כְּפִי מַה שֶּׁקִּבַּלְנוּ מֵרַבּוֹתֵינוּ הַקְּדוֹשִׁים.
|
May our House be one in which we increase Torah and prayer,
in which we speak many words of Torah and prayer,
as we were taught to do by our holy rabbis.
|
|
וְנִזְכֶּה לְהַמְשִׁיךְ בְּתוֹךְ בֵּיתֵנוּ
שֶׁפַע טוֹבָה וּבְרָכָה
וְרַחֲמִים
וְחַיִּים וְכׇל טוֹב
אֲמִתִּי לָנֶצַח
בְּגַשְׁמִיּוּת וּבְרוּחָנִיּוּת
בָּזֶה וּבַבָּא.
|
May we draw into our House
an abundance of good,
blessing,
compassion,
life and all true good enduring—
material and spiritual—
in this world and in the World to Come.
|
|
וּבְרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים
תַּשְׁפִּיעַ לָנוּ כׇּל הַהוֹצָאוֹת וְהַהִצְטָרְכוּת
שֶׁצְּרִיכִים לְבִנְיַן בֵּיתֵנוּ בְּשֶׁפַע גָּדוֹל
וְלֹא יַגִּיעַ לָנוּ שׁוּם עֲנִיּוּת, וְלֹא שׁוּם חֹסֶר
עַל יְדֵי בִּנְיַן בֵּיתֵנוּ.
|
In Your vast compassion,
give us great abundance for all our expenses and needs
connected to building our House.
May we not experience any poverty or lack
as a result of building our House.
|
|
וְלֹא יַטְרִיד אוֹתָנוּ הַבִּנְיָן חַס וְשָׁלוֹם,
וְלֹא יְבַלְבֵּל אוֹתָנוּ כְּלָל מֵעֲבוֹדָתְךָ בֶּאֱמֶת.
|
May the construction not overwhelm us, Heaven forbid,
and not distract us at all from truly serving You.
|
|
וְתַזְמִין לָנוּ לְכׇל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד עֵצִים הַמְסֻגָּלִים לְבֵיתוֹ,
וְיִהְיוּ מְסֻדָּרִים בְּהַבִּנְיָן
כְּפִי הַסֵּדֶר הָרָאוּי לָהֶם מִשֵּׁשֶׁת יְמֵי בְּרֵאשִׁית,
וּתְסַבֵּב כׇּל הַסִּבּוֹת לְטוֹבָה
בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁיִּהְיֶה הַבִּנְיָן רַק לְטוֹבָה בְּכׇל הָאָפָנִים
לָנוּ
וּלְבָנֵינוּ
וּלְכׇל יוֹצְאֵי חֲלָצֵינוּ.
|
Send every individual the wood that is appropriate for his house.
May the planks be arranged in the building
in the order that they were meant to have from the Six Days of Creation.
Bring everything about for the good,
so that the building will be only for the good in all ways—
for us,
for our children
and for all our descendants.
|
|
מָלֵא רַחֲמִים
אַתָּה לְבַד יוֹדֵעַ כׇּל מַה שֶּׁנַּעֲשֶׂה בְּעִנְיַן הַבִּנְיָנִים
וְכַמָּה סַכָּנוֹת יֵשׁ בָּהֶם,
אֲבָל אַתָּה יוֹדֵעַ כַּמָּה וְכַמָּה מֻכְרָחִים לִבְנוֹת בֵּיתָם
כִּי אִי אֶפְשָׁר לָשֶׁבֶת בַּחוּץ,
וּבִפְרָט אִישׁ יִשְׂרְאֵלִי שֶׁצָּרִיךְ בַּיִת לַעֲבוֹדָתוֹ
לְקַבֵּל בּוֹ שַׁבָּת וְיוֹם טוֹב
וּלְהַכְנִיס אוֹרְחִים,
וּלְגַדֵּל בּוֹ בָּנָיו לְתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה.
|
You Who are filled with compassion,
You alone know all that is involved in buildings
and how many dangers are involved in constructing them.
But You know how necessary it is to build a house,
because it is impossible to live outdoors.
In particular, a Yisra’eli needs a House to serve You:
to celebrate the Shabbat and festivals,
to have guests
and to raise their children to learn Torah.

וּמַה יַּעֲשֶׂה בָּשָׂר וָדָם
קָרוּץ מֵחֹמֶר
נִבְעָר מִדַּעַת
וּבִפְרָט כָּמוֹנִי הַיּוֹם,
לְכַוֵּן רְצוֹנְךָ בֶּאֱמֶת בְּעִנְיָן זֶה
וּבְכׇל הָעִנְיָנִים.
|
What will a creature of flesh and blood do,
a creature carved from clay,
with an animalistic awareness—
especially as I am today—
in order to intend to truly do Your will in this
and in all matters?
|
|
רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ
וְזַכֵּנוּ לְהִתְנַהֵג תָּמִיד כִּרְצוֹנְךָ בֶּאֱמֶת,
”יְהוָה יִגְמֹר בַּעֲדִי,
יְהוָה חַסְדְּךָ לְעוֹלָם,
מַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ אַל תֶּרֶף“. (תהלים קלח:ח)
|
Have compassion on us for the sake of Your Name.
Help us always act in accordance with Your will, in truth.
“YHVH will complete matters on my behalf.
YHVH, your kindness is in the Cosmos.
Do not abandon the works of Your hands.” (Psalms 138:8)
|
|
וִיקֻיַּם בָּנוּ מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב.
”יְהוָה יִשְׁמָרְךָ מִכׇּל רָע,
יִשְׁמֹר אֶת נַפְשֶׁךָ,
יְהוָה יִשְׁמֹר צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ
מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם“. (תהלים קכא:ז-ח)
|
May the verse be realized for us,
“YHVH will guard you from all evil.
He will guard Your soul.
YHVH will guard your going out and your coming in,
now and until (the end of the) Cosmos.” (Psalms 121:7-8)
|
|
וּתְמַהֵר וְתָחִישׁ לְגָאֳלֵנוּ וְתִבְנֶה בֵּית מִקְדָּשֵׁנוּ וְתִפְאַרְתֵּנוּ
וִיקֻיַּם בָּנוּ מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב.
”וַהֲבִיאוֹתִים אֶל־הַר קָדְשִׁי
וְשִׂמַּחְתִּים בְּבֵית תְּפִלָּתִי,
עוֹלוֹתֵיהֶם וְזִבְחֵיהֶם לְרָצוֹן עַל־מִזְבְּחִי,
כִּי בֵיתִי, בֵּית תְפִילָּה יִקָּרֵא לְכׇל־הָעַמִּים“. (ישעיה נו:ז)
|
Hurry and swiftly redeem us and build our beautiful Temple.
May the verse be realized in us,
“I will bring them to My holy mountain
and give them joy in My House of Prayer.
Their burnt-offerings and sacrifices will be accepted upon My Altar,
