O God,
Who hast made in one image all the nations of men, to Thee we offer our prayer of peace. |
|
Forgive us
that in our day the nations have gone after strange gods, worshiping the State and offering human sacrifice to the god of War. |
|
O God of love,
unite in opposition to war all those who worship Thee throughout the world. Give us ever the higher courage to take our stand with Thy teachings. Remove from our hearts the very seeds of war, all enmity and selfishness, bigotry and strife. Give us humility and goodwill to every man, to every nation. |
|
May the resounding words of Isaiah,
Thy prophet of ancient days, ring loud in our ears and echo in our hearts, until all men shall know their truth: “And He shall judge between the nations and shall decide for many peoples; And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” (Isaiah 2:4) |
