He who giveth salvation unto kings,
and dominion unto princes,
whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom;
who delivered his servant David from the hurtful sword,[1] Find 1 Chronicles 21:15.
that maketh a way in the sea,[2] i.e., for the Israelites through the Sea of Reeds.
and a path in the mighty waters:[3] again, for the Israelites, through the River Jordan.

may he bless, guard, protect and help,
exalt, magnify and highly aggrandize
our Sovereign Lord,
King Edward [VII],
our Gracious Queen Alexandra,
George, Prince of Wales,
[Victoria,] the Princess of Wales,
and all the Royal Family.
May the supreme King of kings,
in his mercy preserve the king in life,
guard him and deliver him from all trouble, sorrow, and hurt.
May he make his enemies fall before him;
and in whatsoever he undertaketh may he prosper.
May the supreme King of kings
in his mercy put a spirit of wisdom and understanding
into his heart
and into the hearts of all his counsellors,
that they may uphold the peace of the realm,
advance the welfare of the nation,
and deal kindly and truly with all Israel.
In his days and in our ours
may Judah be saved
and Israel dwell securely;
and may the Redeemer come unto Zion.
O that this may be his will;
and let us say, Amen.

This adaptation of the text of the prayer “haNotén Teshuah” for King Edward VII appears in the Maḥzor Avodat Ohel Moed series of festival prayer books by Arthur Davis & Herbert Adler (1904-1909).
