בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י לְצֵ֥את בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה בָּ֖אוּ מִדְבַּ֥ר סִינָֽי׃
|
On the third month of the children of Israel’s leaving Egypt, on that day they came to the Sinai desert.
|
Wäbäśaləsə wärəḫə ʾəməzä wäṣ́əʾu wəludo ʾƎsəraʾelə ʾəmədərä gəbəṣə bäza ʽəlätə mäṣəʾu wəsətä gädamə zäSina.
|
|
וַיִּסְע֣וּ מֵרְפִידִ֗ים וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ מִדְבַּ֣ר סִינַ֔י וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַיִּֽחַן־שָׁ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נֶ֥גֶד הָהָֽר׃
|
And they set out from Rephidim and came to the Sinai desert and encamped in the desert, and Israel encamped by the mount.
|
Wäwäṣ́əʾu ʾəməRafädə wäbäṣəḥu wəsətä gädamə zäSina wäḫädäru həyä ʾƎsəraʾelə mänəṣärä däbəru.
|
|
וּמֹשֶׁ֥ה עָלָ֖ה אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֵלָ֤יו יְהֹוָה֙ מִן־הָהָ֣ר לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֤ה תֹאמַר֙ לְבֵ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְתַגֵּ֖יד לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
|
And Moses was going up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain to say: Say thus to the house of Jacob and tell this to the children of Israel.
|
WäMuse ʽärəgä wəsətä däbərä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə wäṣäwəʽo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse ʾəmədibä däbərə wäyəbelo bälomu läbetä Yaʽəḳobə wäzenəwomu läwəludä ʾƎsəraʾelə.

|
אַתֶּ֣ם רְאִיתֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי לְמִצְרָ֑יִם וָאֶשָּׂ֤א אֶתְכֶם֙ עַל־כַּנְפֵ֣י נְשָׁרִ֔ים וָאָבִ֥א אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃
|
You have seen what I did to Egypt and how I took you on raptors’ wings and brought you to me.
|
ʾÄnətəmu rəʾikəmu mäṭänä gäbärəkəwomu läGəbəṣə wänäśaʾəkukəmu kämäzä kənəfä gʷəza wäʾäḳəräbəkukəmu ḫäbeyä.
|
|
וְעַתָּ֗ה אִם־שָׁמ֤וֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ בְּקֹלִ֔י וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֑י וִהְיִ֨יתֶם לִ֤י סְגֻלָּה֙ מִכׇּל־הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים כִּי־לִ֖י כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
|
And now, if you listen, listen to My voice, and guard My covenant, you will be for Me a treasure over all the peoples, for Mine is all the earth.
|
Wäyəʾəzehi läʾəmä sämaʽəkəmuni ḳaləyä wäʽäḳäbəkəmu təʾəzazəyä təkununi ḥəzəbä zäṣədəḳə ʾəməwəsətä kʷəlu ḥəzəbə ʾəsəmä ziʾäyä yəʾəti kʷəlänətaha mədərə.

|
וְאַתֶּ֧ם תִּהְיוּ־לִ֛י מַמְלֶ֥כֶת כֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְג֣וֹי קָד֑וֹשׁ אֵ֚לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
|
And you will be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation; these are the things you will tell the children of Israel.
|
Wäʾänətəmu təkununi ʾəlä mänəgəśətə ʾəlä təśäwəʽu litä ḥəzəbə zäṣədəḳə; zäḳalä ʾäyədəʽomu läwəludä ʾƎsəraʾelə.
|
|
וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיִּקְרָ֖א לְזִקְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיָּ֣שֶׂם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהֹוָֽה׃
|
And Moses went and called to the elders of the people, and laid before them all these things that the Lord had commanded him.
|
Wämäṣəʾä Muse wäṣäwəʽä liḳanä ḥəzəbə wäʾäyədəʽomu zäkʷəlo ḳalä zäʾäzäzomu ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə.
|
|
וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֤ם יַחְדָּו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וַיָּ֧שֶׁב מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃
|
And all the people answered together and said, All that the Lord has said we will do! And Moses returned the people’s words to the Lord.
|
Wäʾäwəśəʾu kʷəlu ḥəzəbə bä1ḳalə wäyəbelu kʷəlo zäʾäzäzänä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə nəgäbərə wänəsäməʽə wäʾäʽərägä Muse ḳalä ḥəzəbə ḫäbä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə.

|
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּעַ֣ב הֶֽעָנָן֒ בַּעֲב֞וּר יִשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ בְּדַבְּרִ֣י עִמָּ֔ךְ וְגַם־בְּךָ֖ יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַיַּגֵּ֥ד מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃
|
And the Lord said to Moses, Look, I am coming to you in a cloud pillar so that the people will hear My word with you, and also with you be forever faithful; and Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
|
Wäyəbelo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse ʾəmäṣəʾə ʾänä ḫäbekä bäʽämədä dämäna kämä yəsəmaʽə ḥəzəbə ʾənəzä ʾətənagärə məsəlekä wäyəʾəmänu bälaʽəlekä läʽalämä ʽalämə wäʾäyədəʽä Muse ḳalä ḥəzəbə ḫäbä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə.

|
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ לֵ֣ךְ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ם הַיּ֖וֹם וּמָחָ֑ר וְכִבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃
|
And the Lord said to Moses, Go to the people that they be sanctified today and tomorrow, and wash their clothes.
|
Wäyəbelo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse wäridäkä kʷänənə ḥəzəbä wäyanəṣəḥu rəʾəsomu yomə wägeśämä wäyəḫəṣ́əbu ʾäləbasihomu.
|
|
וְהָי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י כִּ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֗י יֵרֵ֧ד יְהֹוָ֛ה לְעֵינֵ֥י כׇל־הָעָ֖ם עַל־הַ֥ר סִינָֽי׃
|
And they should be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Lord will come down before the eyes of all the people onto Mt. Sinai.
|
Wäyəṣ́ənəḥu dələwanihomu läʾämä śaləsətə ʽəlätə ʾəsəmä ʾämä śaləsətə yəwärədə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə dibä däbərə zäSina bäḳədəmehomu läḥəzəbə.
|
|
וְהִגְבַּלְתָּ֤ אֶת־הָעָם֙ סָבִ֣יב לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁמְר֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם עֲל֥וֹת בָּהָ֖ר וּנְגֹ֣עַ בְּקָצֵ֑הוּ כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהָ֖ר מ֥וֹת יוּמָֽת׃
|
And you will barrier the people around, saying, Guard against going up the mountain or touching its foot – all who touch the mountain will die, die.
|
Wätəkəfələ ḥəzəbä yəʽudəwa wäläyətəʽaḳäbu ʾiyəʽərägu wəsətä däbərə wäkʷəlu zäläkäfo lädäbərə bämotə läyəmutə.
|
|
לֹא־תִגַּ֨ע בּ֜וֹ יָ֗ד כִּֽי־סָק֤וֹל יִסָּקֵל֙ אוֹ־יָרֹ֣ה יִיָּרֶ֔ה אִם־בְּהֵמָ֥ה אִם־אִ֖ישׁ לֹ֣א יִחְיֶ֑ה בִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ הַיֹּבֵ֔ל הֵ֖מָּה יַעֲל֥וּ בָהָֽר׃
|
You will not place a hand against them — they will be stoned with stones, or shot with arrows; whether a beast or a man it shall not live, during the blasts if they go up the mountain.
|
Wäʾədäwihomuni ʾiyarəʾəyu: bäʾəbənə läyətəwägäru wäʾəmaʾəko bämoṣ́äfə läyətäwäṣ́äfu: wäläʾəmä ʾənəsəsa wäläʾəmä säbəʾə ʾiyəḥəyo: ʾəməkämä ḳalä mäṭəḳəʽə wädämäna ḫäläfä ʾəmədäbərə yəʽərəgu dibä däbərə.
|
|
וַיֵּ֧רֶד מֹשֶׁ֛ה מִן־הָהָ֖ר אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃
|
And Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people and they washed their clothes.
|
Wäwärädä Muse ʾəmədibä däbərə ḫäbä ḥəzəbə wäbaräkomu wäḫäṣ́äbu ʾäləbasihomu.
|
|
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם הֱי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים אַֽל־תִּגְּשׁ֖וּ אֶל־אִשָּֽׁה׃
|
And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day, do not go near a woman.
|
Wäyəbe läḥəzəbə tädäläwu läśälusə ʽəlätə wäʾitəḳəräbu ʾänəsətä.
|
|
וַיְהִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י בִּֽהְיֹ֣ת הַבֹּ֗קֶר וַיְהִי֩ קֹלֹ֨ת וּבְרָקִ֜ים וְעָנָ֤ן כָּבֵד֙ עַל־הָהָ֔ר וְקֹ֥ל שֹׁפָ֖ר חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃
|
And it was on the third day in the morning, and there was thunder and lightning and a heavy cloud upon the mountain and the sound of the shofar was very strong, and the people in the camp quaked .
|
Wäʾämä śaləsətə ʽəlätə gäyəsäkəmu bäṣəbaḥə wänahu təsäməʽu ḳalä wämäbəräḳä wädämäna wägime bädäbəru läSina ḳalä mäṭəḳəʽə ʽäbiyə dəməṣ́ə wädänəgäṣ́ä kʷəlu ḥəzəbə bäwəsətä təʽəyənətə.

|
וַיּוֹצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת־הָעָ֛ם לִקְרַ֥את הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה וַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּתַחְתִּ֥ית הָהָֽר׃
|
And Moses led the people out to meet God from the camp, and they were standing beneath the mountain.
|
Wäʾäwəṣ́əʾä Muse ḥəzəbä yətərakäbə məsəlä fäṭari ʾəmətəʽəyənətə wäbäṣəḥu ḫäbä däbərə.
|
|
וְהַ֤ר סִינַי֙ עָשַׁ֣ן כֻּלּ֔וֹ מִ֠פְּנֵ֠י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרַ֥ד עָלָ֛יו יְהֹוָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וַיַּ֤עַל עֲשָׁנוֹ֙ כְּעֶ֣שֶׁן הַכִּבְשָׁ֔ן וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָהָ֖ר מְאֹֽד׃
|
And the mountain was fully smoking, since the Lord was coming down in fire, and its smoke rose up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
|
Wädäbərä Sina yəṭäyəsə kʷəlänətahu ʾəsəmä wärädä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə wəsäteta bäʾəsatə wäyəwäṣ́əʾə bäwəsəteta kämä ṭisə zäʾəməʾətonə wädänəgäṣ́ä kʷəlu ḥəzəbə ṭəḳä.

|
וַיְהִי֙ ק֣וֹל הַשֹּׁפָ֔ר הוֹלֵ֖ךְ וְחָזֵ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד מֹשֶׁ֣ה יְדַבֵּ֔ר וְהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים יַעֲנֶ֥נּוּ בְקֽוֹל׃
|
And it was the sound of the shofar grew stronger and stronger; Moses would speak and God would answer in thunderous voice.
|
Wäyədäməṣ́ə dəməṣ́ä mäṭəḳəʽə ʾənəzä yəbäləḥə yəḫeyələ ṭəḳä wäMuse yətənagärə wäʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə yawäśəʾo bäḳalu.
|
|
וַיֵּ֧רֶד יְהֹוָ֛ה עַל־הַ֥ר סִינַ֖י אֶל־רֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑ר וַיִּקְרָ֨א יְהֹוָ֧ה לְמֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶל־רֹ֥אשׁ הָהָ֖ר וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶֽׁה׃
|
And the Lord came down on Mt. Sinai to the top of the mountain, and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
|
Wäwärädä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə däbərä Sina wəsətä kätämahu lädäbərə wäʽärəgä Muse.
|
|
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה רֵ֖ד הָעֵ֣ד בָּעָ֑ם פֶּן־יֶהֶרְס֤וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה֙ לִרְא֔וֹת וְנָפַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ רָֽב׃
|
And the Lord said to Moses, Go down, testify to the people lest they break through to look at God, and many of them fall.
|
Wäyəbelo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse rädə wäʾäyədəʽomu läḥəzəbə ʾiyəḳəräbu ḫäbä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läṭäyəḳo ʾiyədäḳə bäwəsətetomu bəzuḫə.

|
וְגַ֧ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים הַנִּגָּשִׁ֥ים אֶל־יְהֹוָ֖ה יִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּ פֶּן־יִפְרֹ֥ץ בָּהֶ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה׃
|
And also the priests who draw near to the Lord are to be sanctified, lest the Lord break out against them.
|
Wäśäwaʽətə ʾəlä yəḳerəbu läʾəgəziʾə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə yətəbaräku ʾiyəḫəläḳə ʾəməlaʽəlehomu ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə.
|
|
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֔ה לֹא־יוּכַ֣ל הָעָ֔ם לַעֲלֹ֖ת אֶל־הַ֣ר סִינָ֑י כִּֽי־אַתָּ֞ה הַעֵדֹ֤תָה בָּ֙נוּ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הַגְבֵּ֥ל אֶת־הָהָ֖ר וְקִדַּשְׁתּֽוֹ׃
|
And Moses said to the Lord, The people cannot go up to Mt. Sinai, for You Yourself testified to us to say, barrier the mountain and sanctify it.
|
Wäyəbelo Muse läʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə ʾiyəkələ ḥəzəbə ʽärigä wəsətä däbərä Sina ʾəsəmä ʾäsəmaʽəkänä wätəbelänä ʾitələkəfu däbərä wätəbarəkəwo.
|
|
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֤יו יְהֹוָה֙ לֶךְ־רֵ֔ד וְעָלִ֥יתָ אַתָּ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן עִמָּ֑ךְ וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהָעָ֗ם אַל־יֶֽהֶרְס֛וּ לַעֲלֹ֥ת אֶל־יְהֹוָ֖ה פֶּן־יִפְרׇץ־בָּֽם׃
|
And the Lord said to him, Go down and go up, you and Aaron with you, and the priests and the people will not they break through to the Lord, lest God break out against them.
|
Wäyəbelo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse ḥurə wärädə wäʽərägə ʾänətä wäʾÄronə məsəlekä: wäśäwaʽətəsä wäḥəzəbə ʾiyətəḫäyälu ʽärigä ḫäbä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə: yaḥägʷələ ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə ʾəməwəsətetomu.

|
וַיֵּ֥רֶד מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֲלֵהֶֽם׃
|
And Moses went down to the people and told them.
|
Wäwärädä Muse ḫäbä ḥəzəbə wäyəbelomu.
|
|
וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֔ים אֵ֛ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לֵאמֹֽר׃
|
And God spoke all these things and said:
|
Wänäbäbä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə kʷəlo zäḳalä wäyəbe.
|
|
אָֽנֹכִ֖י֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הוֹצֵאתִ֛יךָ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֣֥ית עֲבָדִֽ֑ים׃
|
I am the Lord your God, who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the slave-house.
|
ʾÄnä wəʾətu ʾƎgəziʾə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə zäʾäwəṣ́aʾəkukəmu ʾəmədərä gəbəṣə ʾəməbetä məḳənayəkəmu.
|
|
לֹֽ֣א־יִהְיֶֽ֥ה־לְךָ֛֩ אֱלֹהִ֥֨ים אֲחֵרִ֖֜ים עַל־פָּנָֽ֗יַ׃
|
You will not have yourself any other gods before Me.
|
ʾItamələkə ʾämaləkətä zäʾənəbäleyä.
|
|
לֹֽ֣א־תַֽעֲשֶׂ֨ה־לְךָ֥֣ פֶ֣֙סֶל֙ ׀ וְכׇל־תְּמוּנָ֔֡ה אֲשֶׁ֤֣ר בַּשָּׁמַ֣֙יִם֙ ׀ מִמַּ֔֡עַל וַֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר֩ בָּאָ֖֨רֶץ מִתַָּ֑֜חַת וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּמַּ֖֣יִם ׀ מִתַּ֥֣חַת לָאָֽ֗רֶץ׃
|
You will not make an idol or any image of what is in the heaven above or in the earth below or in the water below the earth.
|
Wäʾitəgəbärə läkä ʾäməlakä kämäzä bäwəsətä sämayə bälaʽəlu wäkämäzä bäwəsətä mədərə bätaḥətu wäbäwəsətä mayatə zäbätaḥəteha lämədərə.
|
|
לֹֽא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥֣ה לָהֶ֖ם֮ וְלֹ֣א תׇעׇבְדֵ֑ם֒ כִּ֣י אָֽנֹכִ֞י יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֵ֣ל קַנָּ֔א פֹּ֠קֵד עֲוֺ֨ן אָבֹ֧ת עַל־בָּנִ֛ים עַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁ֥ים וְעַל־רִבֵּעִ֖ים לְשֹׂנְאָֽ֑י׃
|
You will not bow down to them, nor serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, paying the iniquities of parents on children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren who hate Me.
|
ʾItəsəgədə lomu wäʾitamələkomu ʾəsəmä ʾänä ʾəgəziʾə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə ziʾäkä: ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə ḳänaʾi ʾänä zäʾəfädi ḫäṭiʾätä ʾäbə läwəludə ʾəsəkä śaləsətə wärabəʽətə təwələdə läʾəlä yəṣäləʽuni.

|
וְעֹ֥֤שֶׂה חֶ֖֙סֶד֙ לַאֲלָפִ֑֔ים לְאֹהֲבַ֖י וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י מִצְוֺתָֽי׃
|
And doing mercy to thousand generations of those who love Me and do My commandments.
|
Wäʾəgäbərə məḥərätä lälä–ʾələfə–läʾəlä yafäḳəruni wätəʾəzazəyä ʾəlä yäʽäḳəbu wäläʾəlä yäʽäḳəbu ḥəgəyä.
|
|
לֹ֥א תִשָּׂ֛א אֶת־שֵֽׁם־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לַשָּׁ֑וְא כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יְנַקֶּה֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־יִשָּׂ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ לַשָּֽׁוְא׃
|
You will not take up the name of the Lord your God worthlessly, for the Lord will not forgive those who take up the Divine Name worthlessly.
|
ʾItəməḥälə səmä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə fäṭarikä bäḥäsätə ʾəsəmä ʾiyanäṣəḥə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə zäyənäśəʾə səmo bäḥäsätə.
|
|
זָכ֛וֹר֩ אֶת־י֥֨וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֖֜ת לְקַדְּשֽׁ֗וֹ׃
|
Remember the rest-day to sanctify it.
|
Täzäkärə ʽəlätä sänəbätə ʾäṣədəḳota.
|
|
שֵׁ֤֣שֶׁת יָמִ֣ים֙ תַּֽעֲבֹ֔ד֮ וְעָשִׂ֖֣יתָ כׇּֿל־מְלַאכְתֶּֽךָ֒׃
|
Six days you will work and do all your labor.
|
Sädusä ʽəlätä gəbärə tägəbärä botu kʷəlo təkazäkä.
|
|
וְי֨וֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔֜י שַׁבָּ֖֣ת ׀ לַיהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑֗יךָ לֹֽ֣א־תַעֲשֶׂ֣֨ה כׇל־מְלָאכָ֜֡ה אַתָּ֣ה ׀ וּבִנְךָֽ֣־וּ֠בִתֶּ֗ךָ עַבְדְּךָ֤֨ וַאֲמָֽתְךָ֜֙ וּבְהֶמְתֶּ֔֗ךָ וְגֵרְךָ֖֙ אֲשֶׁ֥֣ר בִּשְׁעָרֶֽ֔יךָ׃
|
And the seventh day is a rest-day for the Lord your God – you will do no labor, you or your sons or daughters, slaves and maids, beasts, or immigrants within your gates.
|
Wäbäsabəʽətə ʽəlätə sänəbätə läʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läʾəgəziʾəkä ʾitəgəbäru bati wäʾimənətä gəbərä ʾiʾänətä wäʾiwälədəkä wäʾiwälätəkä wäʾiʾädəgəkä wäʾikʷəlu ʾənəsəsakä wäʾifälasi zäyənäbərə ḫäbekä.

כִּ֣י שֵֽׁשֶׁת־יָמִים֩ עָשָׂ֨ה יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶת־הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם וְאֶת־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם֙ וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֔ם וַיָּ֖נַח בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י עַל־כֵּ֗ן בֵּרַ֧ךְ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־י֥וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֖ת וַֽיְקַדְּשֵֽׁהוּ׃
|
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in it, and ceased on the seventh day, thus the Lord blessed the rest-day and sanctified it.
|
ʾƎsəmä bäsädusə ʽəlätə gäbərä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə sämayä wämədərä wäbaḥərä wäkʷəlo zäwəsətetu wäʾäʽəräfä ʾämä sabəʽətə ʽəlätə: bäbäyənäzə baräka ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läsabəʽətə ʽəlätə wäʾäṣədäḳa.

|
כַּבֵּ֥ד אֶת־אָבִ֖יךָ וְאֶת־אִמֶּ֑ךָ לְמַ֙עַן֙ יַאֲרִכ֣וּן יָמֶ֔יךָ עַ֚ל הָאֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לָֽךְ׃
|
Honor your father and your mother, that your days be long upon the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
|
ʾÄkəbərə ʾäbakä wäʾəmäkä kämä yəkunəkä ṣədəḳä: bəzuḫä ʽəlätä təräkəbə bäwəsətä mədərə zäṣadəḳətə wəʾətu ʾəgəziʾə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə yähäbəkä.

לֹ֥֖א תִּֿרְצָֽ֖ח׃
|
You will not murder.
|
ʾItəḳətələ.
|
|
לֹ֣֖א תִּֿנְאָֽ֑ף׃
|
You will not commit adultery.
|
ʾItəzämu.
|
|
לֹ֣֖א תִּֿגְנֹֽ֔ב׃
|
You will not steal.
|
ʾItəsərəḳə.
|
|
לֹֽא־תַעֲנֶ֥ה בְרֵעֲךָ֖ עֵ֥ד שָֽׁקֶר׃
|
You will not answer your comrade as a lying witness.
|
Səməʽä bäḥäsätə ʾitəsəmaʽə läbiṣəkä səməʽä bäḥäsätə.
|
|
לֹ֥א תַחְמֹ֖ד בֵּ֣ית רֵעֶ֑ךָ לֹֽא־תַחְמֹ֞ד אֵ֣שֶׁת רֵעֶ֗ךָ וְעַבְדּ֤וֹ וַאֲמָתוֹ֙ וְשׁוֹר֣וֹ וַחֲמֹר֔וֹ וְכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְרֵעֶֽךָ׃
|
You will not envy your comrade’s house: you will not envy your comrade’s wife, or his slave or maid or cow or donkey or anything that is your comrade’s.
|
ʾItəfəto bəʾəsitä kaləʾəkä: ʾitəfəto beto läkaləʾəkä wäʾigärahəto wäʾigäbəro wäʾiʾämäto wäʾilahəmo wäʾibəʽərawihu wäʾikʷəlo bäwəsətä ʾənəsəsahu zäʾäṭəräyä ʾäṭərəyo biṣəkä.

וְכׇל־הָעָם֩ רֹאִ֨ים אֶת־הַקּוֹלֹ֜ת וְאֶת־הַלַּפִּידִ֗ם וְאֵת֙ ק֣וֹל הַשֹּׁפָ֔ר וְאֶת־הָהָ֖ר עָשֵׁ֑ן וַיַּ֤רְא הָעָם֙ וַיָּנֻ֔עוּ וַיַּֽעַמְד֖וּ מֵֽרָחֹֽק׃
|
And all the people saw the thunder and lighting and the sound of the shofar, and the mountain was smoking, and the people was in awe and fell back and stood from afar.
|
Wäkʷəlu ḥəzəbə yəreʾi ḳalä wäbərəhanä zälänəp̣äsə wäḳalä zämäṭəḳəʽə wädäbəru yəṭäyəsə wäfäriho kʷəlu ḥəzəbə ḳomä rəḫuḳä.
|
|
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה דַּבֵּר־אַתָּ֥ה עִמָּ֖נוּ וְנִשְׁמָ֑עָה וְאַל־יְדַבֵּ֥ר עִמָּ֛נוּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים פֶּן־נָמֽוּת׃
|
And they said to Moses, You, speak with us that we may listen, and don’t have God speak with us, lest we die!
|
Wäyəbeləwo läMuse ʾänətä tänagärə məsəlenä wäyətənagärə ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə məsəlekä kämä ʾinəmutə.
|
|
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־הָעָם֮ אַל־תִּירָ֒אוּ֒ כִּ֗י לְבַֽעֲבוּר֙ נַסּ֣וֹת אֶתְכֶ֔ם בָּ֖א הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וּבַעֲב֗וּר תִּהְיֶ֧ה יִרְאָת֛וֹ עַל־פְּנֵיכֶ֖ם לְבִלְתִּ֥י תֶחֱטָֽאוּ׃
|
And Moses said to the people, Don’t fear, for only so as to test you has God come, and only so as awe of God be before you, lest you sin.
|
Wäyəbelomu Muse bäʾənətäzə kämä yamäkərəkəmu mäṣəʾä ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə ḫäbekəmu kämä yəḫədərə fərəhätä ziʾähu laʽəlekəmu kämä ʾitäʾäbəsu.
|
|
וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד הָעָ֖ם מֵרָחֹ֑ק וּמֹשֶׁה֙ נִגַּ֣שׁ אֶל־הָֽעֲרָפֶ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֖ם הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
|
And the people stood from afar, and Moses drew near the cloud, that God was there.
|
Wäyəḳäwəmə ḥəzəbə rəḥuḳä wäMuse boʾä wəsətä ṭaḳa ḫäbä häläwä ʾəgəziʾäbəḥerə.
|
|
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֹּ֥ה תֹאמַ֖ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אַתֶּ֣ם רְאִיתֶ֔ם כִּ֚י מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי עִמָּכֶֽם׃
|
And the Lord said to Moses, Tell this to the children of Israel: You have seen that from the heavens I spoke with you.
|
Wäyəbelo ʾƎgəziʾäbəḥerə läMuse bälomu läbetä yaʽəḳobə wäzenəwomu läwəludä ʾəsəraʾelə kämä ʾəməsämayə tänagärəkukəmu.
|
|
לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּן אִתִּ֑י אֱלֹ֤הֵי כֶ֙סֶף֙ וֵאלֹהֵ֣י זָהָ֔ב לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ לָכֶֽם׃
|
Do not act as such with me: a god of silver and a god of gold do not make for yourself.
|
ʾItamələku ʾäməlakä zäbərurə wäʾitamələku ʾäməlakä zäwärəḳə wäʾitəgəbäru läkəmu zäkämäzə ʾäməlakä.
|
|
מִזְבַּ֣ח אֲדָמָה֮ תַּעֲשֶׂה־לִּי֒ וְזָבַחְתָּ֣ עָלָ֗יו אֶת־עֹלֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ וְאֶת־שְׁלָמֶ֔יךָ אֶת־צֹֽאנְךָ֖ וְאֶת־בְּקָרֶ֑ךָ בְּכׇל־הַמָּקוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַזְכִּ֣יר אֶת־שְׁמִ֔י אָב֥וֹא אֵלֶ֖יךָ וּבֵרַכְתִּֽיךָ׃
|
You will make Me an earthen altar and sacrifice upon it your whole-offerings and peace-offerings, your sheep and your cattle; in all the place where I will have My name remembered I will come to you and bless you.
|
Məśəwaʽä bäwəsətä mədərə gəbärə litä wäśuʽə bäwəsəteta mäbaʾäkəmu wäbezakəmu bägəʽä wäʾäləhəmətä bäkʷəlu mäkanə bäḫäbä sämäyəku səməyä bähəyä wäʾəmäṣəʾə ḫäbekä wäʾəbarəkäkä.

|
וְאִם־מִזְבַּ֤ח אֲבָנִים֙ תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־לִּ֔י לֹֽא־תִבְנֶ֥ה אֶתְהֶ֖ן גָּזִ֑ית כִּ֧י חַרְבְּךָ֛ הֵנַ֥פְתָּ עָלֶ֖יהָ וַתְּחַֽלְלֶֽהָ׃
|
And if you make Me a stone altar, you will not build it of cut stone, for a blade wielded upon it will profane it.
|
Wäläʾəmä məśəwaʽä zäʾəbənə gäbärəkä litä ʾitənədəḳomu fäṣiḥäkä ʾəsəmä mäṭəbaḥətäkä ʾänəbärəkä laʽəlehu wäʾärəkʷäsəkä.
|
|
וְלֹֽא־תַעֲלֶ֥ה בְמַעֲלֹ֖ת עַֽל־מִזְבְּחִ֑י אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹֽא־תִגָּלֶ֥ה עֶרְוָתְךָ֖ עָלָֽיו׃
|
And you will not go up steps to My altar, so that you do not reveal your nakedness upon it.
|
ʾItaʽərəgə mäʽarəgä bäwəsətä məśəwaʽəyä ʾiyətəkäśätə məḫəfarikä bähəyä.
