Who is like you, O God,
who forgives sin, pardons iniquity to the remnant of his people; who does not hold his wrath forever, because he delights in pardoning. He will have mercy on us again, subdue our sins, sink our transgressions into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:18-19) |
|
Ja, alle Sünden deines Volkes Israel wirst du verbergen,
Yes, all the sins of your people Israel you will hide,
so that they will never be mentioned again, never punished, never brought to mind. |
You will fulfill your faithfullness to Yaaqov,
your favor to Avraham, as you swore to our fathers in the days of old. (Micah 7:20) — |
In fear I called upon the Godhead,
it heard me and made room for me. God is with me, I fear nothing! What can a man do to me? God is with me, I will see pleasure in enemies. It is better to trust in the Eternal than to rely on men; it is better to trust in the Lord than to rely on princes. (Psalms 118:5-9) |
They will do no more evil
in all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the depths of the sea. (Isaiah 11:9) |
|
Amen.

(Seder Tashlikh)” was translated/adapted by Yehoshua Heshil Miro and published in his anthology of teḥinot, בית יעקב (Beit Yaaqov) Allgemeines Gebetbuch für gebildete Frauen mosaischer Religion. It first appears in the 1833 edition on pp. 145-146. In the 1835 edition it is arranged as teḥinah №84 on p. 157. As this Seder Tashlikh is mostly comprised of verses from the Tanakh, I have added the Hebrew and set it side-by-side with the Miro’s German.
We welcome corrections and improvements. The transcription of the German from Latin script in Fraktur type provided machine-readable text for a machine translation by DeepL, which we then edited for accuracy and clarity. –Aharon Varady
